I'm just curious about how long we should expect it to take to leave MK and take the monorail to Epcot? We're thinking of hitting Coral Reef for dinner one evening but will be at MK most of the day. I'm just not sure it's worth the hassle. Thanks!

30 or minutes depending on how long you wait for the Monorail...The monorails are frequent though

Plus you must take TWO monorails.
One monorail from MK to TTC, then exit and board another to Epcot, so you could end up waiting a bit for one or the other or both.

I would say 30 minutes from the time you walk out of the MK gates....Coral Reef is definatly worth the monorail ride.

Thanks - this will be for our last day at WDW, so I figure it's worth the trip for a very good meal. I checked out their lunch menu and realized dinner's the way to go, and this may actually be the only time we take the monorail, so it will be fun for the kids!

It want take any longer than 30 mins if monorails are running smoothly. I would allow 45 mins to be on safe side, plus not having to rush to get to your ressie.

If I was going to dinner in Epcot I would take the bus to the Boardwalk (from the front of the MK) and stroll on the boardwalk (about 8 minutes) to the International Gateway at Epcot. I'm not sure if its faster, but I love the Boardwalk and the IG entrance!

I would only go via the monorail with your kids...it is an attraction within itself (especially if they have never been on it)....:)

Front of park restaurant- take the monorail. And I agree with everyone else it is about 30 minutes all things going smoothly. Now if you were going to the World Showcase- then I would say try a bus to the BC or Boardwalk and walk on over through the international gateway.

The ride from Mk to TTC from TTC to EP is probably 30 minutes but I would plan on 45 if it is for ressies. Also I think the whole trip from the time you start leaving the park, walk to monorail, ride to TTC, then ride to Epcot, walk down the ramp, thru the ticket stand, and walk to Living Seas to check in, I would allow at least an hour if you don't want to be late maybe even an hour and 15 minutes. But this IMO, I don't like to be late, I always get scared they will tell me it's too late and try again later.:)

I tend to agree with this estimate. It can take some time to walk to the monorail then from the monorail then through security and the entrance and it's a few minute walk to the Land as well. Give yourself plenty of time.

30 mins is about right. And see if on the way to Epcot from the TTC if you can ride up front (depends if anyone else has asked and is at Captain's discretion). It is way awesome, and a nice long ride. We managed to get on one, and the experience is totally different.
We loved Coral Reef, and it isn't too far inside the park once you get off the monorail.

Definitely 30-45 minutes. I did it two times this week. I just moved here and parked Epcot spent a few hours there left around 2:20 took the monorail to MK to make it there for the parade and was there a good 15 minutes beforehand still I'd give your self 30 to 40 minutes just in case. Also like, someone said remember you are taking 2 monorails! Make sure when you leave MK you take the Magic Kindgom Express monorail. :)
