With the rumors of the price hike on April 1st...everyone is a little bit nervous. Though..my guide, 2 weeks ago, thought that a price hike would happen summertime..not April.

Two years ago we were on the list for a 100 point Dec use year add-on at the BWV for 12 months and decided to purchase BCV points. One month later we got the call the BW points were available so we took those also. We just talked tonight about whether we should add on again but would only be interested in BW points so this thread was very timely.

That's kind of what I got from my guide too when I called him to get us on the waitlist. He said DVC has been buying the resales up. And he said it could be a few months or longer - let's hope for the shorter!!

I just found out today that our BCV contract made it through Disney at $81 per point with February use year. I have 175 points for '05 and all 210 starting '06. We submitted on Feb. 28th.

Senecabeach, I didn't even get a chance to ask you to put me on the board. After debating with myself to spend some bonus and tax refund $$ on whether to increase my VWL holdings or try for a small add-on at BCV (50-75 points), I called my guide on March 10 to request a spot on the waitlist for BCV. I told her I expected a long wait, but (as other posters have also been told) she mentioned that Disney is aggressively buying back BCV and BWV because of the long waitlists and told me she would call back in a week or so to give me an idea about where I stood.

I was still a bit skeptical, though, so imagine my surprise when I got a message on Thursday afternoon that she already got me 60 points at BCV. I didn't have the opportunity to speak with her directly, so I'm unsure of the UY. It's either February, June, or October as I already have contracts in those months. I'm going to try to get to talk to her this week as my work schedule permits and look for that FedEx package at the door.

I haven't told anyone else as my family thinks I've gone point crazy already...I just like to have options because I like all the resorts.

I hope that this one-week turnaround gives some encouragement to those who are waiting or are just thinking about it. Perhaps it was a right place-right time situation, but I cannot complain.

Also, I reviewed my office voice mails to verify my notes, since her call came mid-meeting (but it was the highlight of my day ). Turns out that it is 63 points, not 60 (I guess because I originally asked for up to 75 and that was the balance available) and she thought the use year is February, though she was not 100% sure. She also remarked that it was a fast fill.

Again, Pixie dust to all who are waiting. Hopefully, Disney will be aggressive when it comes to fulfilling their DVC members' add-on requests.

I have a question, I'm new here so bear with me please. Thanks.
We were at Disney in Nov last year and went on the tour, and while we didn't buy immediately because we weren't sold on SSR (even though it was beautiful and I would have no problem staying there), we recently decided after finding out you can buy resales that we would love to buy at BCV.
We called and our Guide told us there were only 2 or 3 people ahead of us and that she thought we would get our points fairly quickly.
That was only two weeks ago, so I haven't thought much about it since then, but I saw this thread and it seems there are quite a few people looking for points longer than I have. Is this because when you add on points you are looking for a particular use year? My husband and I told the guide we would take any use year. We also like the BWV and the guide told us we could buy the points there immediately. So, if it really will take a long time to get the points at BCV, maybe we will get the BWV instead.

While I am no expert on this topic, use year is part of the issue. Those of us who have existing contracts and wish to add-on less than 150 points are tied to our current use year(s). If we want to add on 150 points or more, it's at our discretion, but would be just like buying a new contract if the use year is different than what we're already holding.

Also, from what I understand, even if you're at the top of the list, your request will not be filled unless enough points are available at once to complete it. Thus, if you're waiting for 180 points and only 120 come back to Disney, they'll move to the next individual whose order can be filled with 120 points or less, then on down the list until all 120 points have been reallocated. (Someone please correct me if this is misinformation. I don't want to spread falsehoods on the DIS boards).

Because there are more units at BWV, there are more points on the market. That's why it is likely that a BWV request could be filled more quickly than one for BCV. You just never know. If you really want BCV, then hold on (or try resale if it's a good scenario for you).

I spoke to my guide this afternoon. She confirmed that the 63 BCV points for a February use year are coming my way, and reiterated that they are being aggressive to bring the waitlists down. That's a positive!

thanks for info.
When I talked to my guide last week I asked her if it would be better if I gave her a range of points I was willing to buy to see if would be easier to fill and she told me that they fill the waitlist in order, she said e.g., if 100 points come in then they go to the next person on the list and then all the points that come in from then on with a matching uy go to that person until the request is filled and then they jump to the next person the list.
I've heard so many different verisons of what happens it makes my head spin allittle.

I'm soooo thankful I found these boards because now I know I'm not alone.
