How long to add on points at sold out resort?

Hi! I'm new, so could you explain why "if you want to book a reservation with different resort points, they have to be the same use year"? Thanks!

At the 11th month you can book your "home" resort.

At the 7th month window you can book "any" DVC with any of your contracts.

UY is important to know for banking/borrowing/cancelling and has nothing to do with "when" you vacation.

Dec 11 , 2006 called Guide for Dec U/Y BWV 25 point add on . Had them right away , no wait. I had wondered if I called before 12/1 would they had me wait or did I cause myself to lose 25 points for same money?

Talked to guide today (March 4th) and got on wait list to add 150 BCV points, any use year June or later. We currently have master contracts with both June and August UYs, but guide said because we're adding 150 points we can w/l for any use year we wish. Looking at how long some of you have been waiting I feel but it will be worth it to get what we really want. Anyone care to venture a guess how long we'll have to wait?

No..I wouldn't dare to venture a guess, nor, do I know how valid the past posters waiting info is. If people dont tell me they got the add on or cancelled..I can't update.
My experience was an 11 mo., 7 day wait in 05 for 100 pts. (that I hardly remember now )
I would suggest getting on a resellers list too and see what comes in first. Though, keep in mind that "IF" you pay closing costs they range from $400.-$1,000. extra that you need to add into the per pt. price.
