Hey everyone, I know I haven't been here too much lately. I was busy having a baby I am still waiting for my BCV points dec use year and am a little surprised to see others have gotten them for my use year and haven't been waiting as long. What gives? Guess I better call my guide. Is there no waitlist anymore??

This is a long post but I thought that this was the correct thread to post our BCV/OKW saga on.
A little history: We had purchased 50 pts. at OKW Sept. use year. It was a stripped contract but we bought it at a good price. The rest of our contracts are Aug. use year. Well, DH was never happy with the different use year.
Anyway this year we called our DVC guide because we wanted to be put on the wait list for 50 BCV points and we were going to sell our 50 Sept. OKW pts. We got our 50 BCV points, but decided to hang on to the Sept OKW points because we had already used our 2005 allotment and we were not under any pressure to sell them.
Well, one day I came home from work and my DH informed me that our DVC guide called and that there were 50 pts available for BCV Aug. use year. She said that we were still in the computer on the waiting list. It took us about 10 minutes to decide that we wanted them. At this point, we decided to finally put our OKW points up for sale.
We called the TSS and said we wanted to sell them for $82 a point. The points are not available until 9/2006. Like I said, we were not in a hurry to sell. Within 8 hours we had a buyer and started the process. Our buyer could not get financing so the points went on the market again. We were offered $72 a point which we turned down. Then within 24 hours we were offered our price of $82 from people who had already deposited money (my guess is they had been ROFR) so we of course accepted it right away. We did what we were supposed to do and figured that our points were sold.
We received a letter from DVD 5 days later saying that they were exercising their ROFR. We were very surprised. We figured that Disney would never buy a contract from OKW that was stripped selling for $82 a point! I really feel bad for the people that were trying to buy this contract because they obviously wanted to buy DVC. Thoughts on this? Sorry to be so long but I thought that a little background would help.

In 2003 I inquired with the Timeshare Store about a listing on their web-site for 100 point add on at BCV with a June UY . I was told I was "too late" for that particular listing. So they put my name on a wiat-list. It took about 3 weeks for another contract to become available with these same details. They called and I immedeately bought it!

RLevy29...Sure wish there was an answer to understand DVC's ROFR and "wait list" point allocation process.

Please NO flames..but..
I have gotten really crazed when I see "newbies" passing ROFR, with MY UY...and I, a member, am on a wait list
I have have had conversations with my guide's manager, even on his personal cell phone, and no one can answer THE question. My guide has been very understanding though..he calls me at times and has said.. ..still waiting and at the "old" price. At his suggestion I'm on the TSS wait list too!!

I probably should have attended the anual BC meeting with Beca and collared Jim Lewis...who I can't get to either.

Well...think I'll start planning the party for my 1st anniversary on the "wait list" coming up in Jan....

Thanks for all the congrats on my baby! I called my guide yesterday (thursday) and she said she is looking into it. She said my name may have come off the waitlist for some reason. I don't know....I am waiting for her to call me back. I will let you know what happens.

You know, I am not sure what happened. I have been playing phone tag with my guide. She left a message that said congrats I got 30 points for you. So I don't know if my name was skipped or taken off the list. At any rate, she had notes from 2004 in her computer saying I had called looking for points.

Well, we added another 25 VWL March UY points on Monday while we were at VWL! They were available that day, and I'm glad, we will be banking them, and they'll be used when we bring our DGrands and family to the VWL in '06!

DH chatted with Michele our guide, and it seems we both were at the GF on Sunday afternoon admiring the decorations. If only we knew! I'd like to meet her in person!

Thanks Beca! Yup, and it was DMom and DSis's first stay there and we all had an absolutely magical time. For the first time ever, we did take the time to rent bikes and ride around the area, and we did take time to just enjoy the resort. Of course, whenever DH was talking to someone on the phone, like our guide or goofyforlife (who got the Christmas tree after us) and he would tell them that I was at the pool, most people said WHERE? it was sort of chilly, but the weather was really just fine for us!

I did think of you, Beca, because I know how you love BCV! Our family group will be staying there in May, and I told DMom about how the gardenias there are just perfect in May, and she's looking forward to that visit as well. That will be a first for THEM as well, I know we love BCV too!
