How long to add on points at sold out resort?

I did a few add ons recently --- my UY being March ...... 150 SSR (added in January got right away ---- though that not a sold out one yet) , 60 points BWV (added in January 2006 got them right away) , 60 points VWL (added in January 2006 got them right away), 60 points BCV (waitlisted in January - haven't gotten them yet... but called Friday 2/24 to up it to 90 points waitlisted for).

Now after making reservations with these points decided I needed more so (was hoping to get them before my UY rolls around) ..... 30 VWL (added 2/24/2006 got them right away) ..... 30 BWV (waitlisted on 2/24/2006)

I am wondering how long I will have to wait for the BCV.

Oh boy, I'm in trouble already. Adding on for BCV, Feb UY, 40 points (gotta round it up to an even 200 ). Waitlist request submitted on March 8th. And so it begins.......

Well, your timing might be better than you thought. A 350pt contract just sold on TTS, Feb UY for $85 per point....that is cutting it REAL close, IMO. And, that is a lot of points...some of those points might have your name on them.

Yes, prices will be going up on the sold out resorts as well.

yes EVEN with the shorter contract.

With DVC now branching out to MEGA resorts in locations that many view as less desirable, current DVC owners are buying extra points ot the resorts they WANT to stay at.

People are concerned that once Disney sells out SSR, and build another MEGA complex in another location off the beaten path, that unless you OWN where you want to stay, you may well end up getting "stuck" (flame suit on) with staying at some place that you don't prefer, if you book inside of 6 mths.

IMO these concerns will continue to grow and grow as we have more and more owners of DVC contracts in less the ideal locations.

Just scan the board and look at the recent threads of SSR owners trying to book at other resorts.

You won't find many BCV or BWV owners fighting to do day by day calling at 7 mths to get into SSR..

Unfortunately not. They might be but the new price will be $95 pp.

Can I be added to the list? I called Gib today but he is out on one of the cruiseships so I spoke with Doug and changed my 100 pt BCV Dec UY request to 50 BCV and 50 VWL. Now we will add those to our SSR (still our fave) and be all set...Our SSr points for our January Mousetrek with the parents and alternate with short hops to BCV in the summer or BCV for December.

Until CR or AKL open then we may have another case of addonitis. I wa told that there is no price increase for current members for add ons until June

SLAKK... absolutely. Gib is also my guide and we spoke monthly about my add on wait, which took 11 mos. + .
Also...YES, if you are on the wait list, the price stands from when you started waiting. There were 2 increases while I was waiting...and I got the original cheaper price.
