I am doing a project and I need to know about how long Carousel of Progress is. It is one of the few rides I have never ridden. I just need a ballpark time nothing exact. Thanks!

I'd guess about 20-25 minutes.

Alternately, if someone bolts out of one of the doors during the performance, it can take an hour or so...

See, that I get. ;)

the Birnbaums guide says 20 minutes

There are four scenes, each lasting exactly five minutes. When the doors open to load, it will be five minutes before the theater rotates again. So you will be sitting down for 25 minutes.

Well the one time we decided to take a break in the AC and visit, the carousel got stuck at the third scene and then moved all the way back to the beginning so it was an almost 40 minute experience for us!

Wow, really that needed to be specified. Maybe attraction is more accurate if hairs must be split.

Well, since the OP referred to it as a ride, I assumed she didn't know. No need to be snarky.

It goes around in a circle. It's a ride.

Personally, I wouldn't consider a theater that rotates maybe 90 degrees, then stops for a few minutes and so on through four scenes to be a ride. And if going around in a circle is the definition of a ride, then Garden Grill restaurant is also a ride.

COP is a GREAT way to take a 20-25 minute break without leaving the park.

I guess the main thing to know about it is that you sit in a seat in a theater that rotates every 5 minutes. To some, that may qualify as an "show" and to others, a "ride." As long as the OP knows what the attraction entails, the semantics of show vs. ride don't really matter.

Love the Carousel of Progress (especially in the heat) but geez, does that song get stuck in my head!

Too long.
Come on....someone had to say it. The only thing i m gonna argue bout is the fact i now have the song in my head.
Ugghhhhh
;)

Too long and claustrophobic when it is stuck....especially when you have to pee!
Love it though.

My dh really likes it and so do I....because for me it's long enough to take a decent nap ;).
