I only work 17 miles from home, but with traffic, it takes about 1 hour each way!

P.S. I don't understand the "I'm an at home mom" category, as there is no commute to/from work?

Well, there is no commute time for people whose offices are in their homes either. At home moms work too, so why not include them? (I'll also add that my job as a SAHM was a tougher job than my office jobs.)

I live less than 2 blocks from my office. I drive to work each day in about 2 minutes. I never know when I have to leave my office to go to a branch or meeting, so I need my car every day.

I live 2 miles from work. We have 1 car and since DH is SAHD he takes me to work in the morning and I take the bus back home when he can't pick me up. So, by bus - 10 minutes - by car - 5 minutes

I am about 5 minutes away from my office. It's great!!! I get to go home for lunches, take naps, no freeways, save a lot on gas!! Especially here in southern california.

Usually takes less than 15 minutes for me. I work with a woman who drives 90 minutes EACH WAY:earseek: five days a week.
She's a mother and has another baby on the way. She says she likes small town living. We're not talking heavy traffic, we're talking a long distance:eek: It's not like there aren't small towns much closer (about 20 minutes max).

Normally 45 minutes - but with the weather could be alot longer!!!

44 miles about 1 hour and 15 min on average... sometimes i can do it in 55 sometimes in a hour and 45

I live just 5 miles from work, but it usually takes about 20 minutes to get there!

This is sad.....A little background info first. I work at a Fitness Center that is located in our Community Center. It is 2 houses and a driveway away and I DRIVE!!!!!!
Mostly because I always go to the store first for coffee and that's farther away then work.....
With store stop and drive to work it takes me 5 minutes.

I take the train into the city... 15 minutes from my house to the train, 50 minutes on the train and 15 minute walk to office..then wait to go up the elevator.. close to 1 1/2 hours each way...

I am consistently between 35-37 minutes from work. But I do have something on some of you... I have to go to a different state for work (live in RI, work in MA).

My commute reduced from 45 minutes to 15 minutes when I recently changed jobs.

(PS - you forgot in home dads on your poll)

While my office is about 50 miles from home I only go in 3 days a week. Work from home 2 days. I leave very early 6am to miss traffic if I left later it would easily take 2 hours.

Don't work outside the home & haven't done for 16 yrs.

About 26 miles and in good weather it can be done in about 25 minutes mostly highway. If a snowstorm comes in say between 10-11A.M. than it takes around 3 1/2 Hours! It really is unbelievable but true. It happened twice last year and already happened last week.
