Origional plan was to come Monday to Monday but both these Mondays spent travelling so 4 days at the park and 2 days in Paris. I have booked our accomodation for the week. Well we were going to drive to save money but it turns out cheaper to take the Eurostar. This means we will arrive the monday morning and wont leave till the monday evening giving 5 and a half days at Disney!

I don't think my husband will be too impressed, but will my just 3 yr old be ok? We haven't been before and will be a slow pace with her. It will be the week before but just entering the school holidays so plan to do the quieter monday-friday and then have the sat and sun in Paris. Just not sure how we will cope on the monday waiting for our evening train and being fed up of the park by then? Is this possible :)

Also, do you know if we are able to use any pools in the area without beng a hotel resident, do any allow entry for a fee?

Thanks

It all depends on what time of year you're visiting. In the summer it would probably be a nice amount of time to spend in the park. If it's during the winter, you might find yourself a bit bored by the end.

If you're staying in a hotel with a pool you might find that you'll spend a couple of afternoons in the pool away from the Parks.

We did 4.5 days (Monday - Friday) at DLP last November with our daughter who was 23 months at the time. It was great as it was quite quiet Monday - Thursday but busier on the Friday so we really took our time wandering around & taking it all in, saw all of the parades, got on all of the rides as there were no queues and thought it wasn't too long at all. the only thing was the amount of money we spent on food & drink (£100 per day). You can't use the hotel pool unless you are staying in that specific hotel.

There is an aquarium a train ride away so maybe that's something else to look at doing.

You are only allowed to use the pool of the hotel if you are staying there but can go into any hotel and use the bar/shops/restaurants or just have a nosey round

Where are you staying?

We are coming in October - 17th to 24th
Not staying in a hotel with a pool!

I thought this was the case. I looked at the aquaboulevard but it will be about £50 for the 3 of us which is extortionate!

We are staying self catering in apartment near Val d'Europe.. couldn't afford Disney hotel for a week!!!!

Thanks. Good to know that 4.5 days wasn't too much!

Had looked at the aquarium but it seemed a very expensive way to pass a few hours.

The whole reason we picked a self catering apartment instead of staying at disney was to save the money on food!

What are you planning to do in Paris? Don't forget that the city is a tourist attraction in itself and gets noticably busier from Friday evenings and through the weekend.

Could you space your Paris visiting days with one during the week and one at the weekend? It might help to reduce DH's Disney overload that way too.

I had considered this but dismissed it thinking that Disney must seem far more crowded than Paris would at the weekend :). The weekend will be the start of the French and UK half term holiday so expect it will be more busy than usual?

Also if I purchased the train tickets (not sure of the name of them, mobilis pass?) for 2 days they have to be used on consecutive days

I've been at end of May half term and the queues for attractions (especially the Louvre) were much, much longer on the Saturday. It might not be as bad in October. You could always go Fri/Sat but if the choice is queuing in Paris or queuing at Disney with a 3 year old then you've probably made the best choice already.

Un Mobilis is 14€ per day as it is a one day pass and therefore can be used any day and unless you want to you don't have to buy two and use one two consecutive days

Are you thinking more of a Paris Visite ? If so it's not worth it as they cost 29,90€ for 2 days and have to be used consecutively.

I know it's only 1,90€ pp difference but seeing as you are after saving money in your other choices thought I'd mention it

You have many public swimming pools in Paris which are way cheaper than Aquaboulevard but it seems a bit daft to come to Paris and go swimming :lmao:

Sealife at Val d'Europe often has reductions on tickets so it's maybe possible for you to find one at the time you visit

I'd agree that Paris will be busy on the Saturday especially the metro/Rer passing train stations as many people leave for their holidays and well as those coming into Paris from the Provinces for theirs.

What have you planned for Paris visit wise ? :)

Thanks Carrie Cat.

I have become comfortable now with the amount of time we will have at DLP!

I did mean the Paris Visite but thanks, i'll stick to 2 one day mobilis passes

Our plans in Paris are orientated around our 3 year old. Obviously the eiffel tower but will never be able to get my husband to climb it! Boat trip along the Seine using our Tesco clubcard vouchers for a ticket. And then fingers crossed for no rain as plan to visit some of the parks.

So you think I should do Paris on a weekday and Disney on the weekend??!!

Can I ask one more question??.. What time is the parade usually on a quiet park day.

Thanks

As you are not planning to visit any musuems, indoor exhibits or go up the TE it won't really effect you the weekend

If you were wanting to do any shopping or look at the department stores I'd go on the Saturday rather than the Sunday as we don't have Sunday trading and a day in the week like Wednesday which would split up the stay a bit more.

But with a small child you could find that one day in Paris is more than enough especially as the weather could be iffy...saying that you might get the summer that we are not having with our 15° again today and high wind/rain bursts :sad2:

You can see a lot for free by using the buses, routes 24 and 63 come to mind as they cross a wide part of Paris, and just get off and on when you feel like it with your pass.

The Luxembourg gardens http://en.parisinfo.com/museum-monuments/1241/jardin-du-luxembourg-are very pleasant to walk around and from there you can walk down the Bld St Michel to Notre Dame and the river, cross over to Ile St Louis and have an ice cream from Berthillon :cloud9:

The parade in the main park will be on around 5.00pm when you visit as far as I remember and then you have the Stars and cars one in the Studios a bit earlier.

:)

We just came back from 3 days at the DLP parks and that was plenty for us (me and DH). We don't have kids, so I can't guess what a 3 year old would think, but even though it was busy, we were able to re-ride several rides.

JMHO

I think there will be very few parts of the UK on half term then - most will probably be the week commencing 24th (having looked through some of the links in the sticky above) or like us not until the week commencing 31st October.

We are going in 5 weeks for 7 nights and 8 days.
We have already been there 36 times.
It is never to long.

:banana:We always plan for 1 or 2 days to go to paris or something, but that only happend ontime, we then went to Parc de Feline.
This time we plan to go to Paris one day and Provins for another, we shall see if we make it there.

We where not planning going that long, but when we booked 4 nights we got 2 nights free, who am I to ignore that , and we firstly booked a hotel in Bussy saint georges for the first night so we could get a early start, but then the travel agency called us 3 weeks a go they made a mistake with the first hotel and that we are now staying at the second hotel (dream castle ) for the entire stay, with no extra costs.:banana::banana:
