I don't think I've seen this question on the boards before. How long is the walk from the GF to the Wedding Pavilion? :confused3

I am hoping I can have my guests ride the monorail to the GF and then walk to the wedding pavilion. I should have attempted to do this on our last visit this summer but it completely slipped my mind. :joker:

I want to use my limo time for our dessert party, because I want to wear my dress. Is it really feasible to do this? or should I just bite the bullet and rent the transportation?

its not a ridiculously long walk from the GF to the WP, we did it one night last year, its probably only about 5 minutes, its just that the limo normally takes you round the front of the hotel, you can walk round from the back of the hotel to the WP and its much shorter route. the limo takes 8 people. it wont take more, we had 9 and they wouldnt let us all squeeze in, think its some rule.
you might want to check with disney if you're allowed to use the limo as transportation for the dessert party, we all know theyve got some stupid rules when it comes to intimates and dessert parties!!

I was just there this weekend and the walk between the GF and the Wedding Pavilion is 5 minutes a the most. There is even a path so you don't have to walk on the grass in your heels.

I spoke with Amy from DFTW about the limo and she said yes I could do that. But of course, I was also told my officiant wouldn't count as a guest and I was told by Amy that he does. I hope all those things hold true. I'm counting the Rabbi as a guest anyway. I have room for him.

5 minutes is not a bad walk. That should be doable.

Thanks,
Lisa

The walk is totally do-able, as long as you aren't having your ceremony in the middle of the summer. Its a nice walk to the WP from the GF, unless you have the full force of the Florida sun beating down on your back, especially in formal clothes.

What rules do they have for intimate weddings?

I'm having an intimate wedding at WL and we're staying there the night before and night of our wedding. We're thinking we don't even need the limo service since we'll be staying there. I asked my planner if there's anything else we can opt for instead of driving around a limo for 4 hours with no purpose! Has anyone run into this same problem?

Afinter: I think there's another thread on here that mentions this, but lots of people use their limo time for something other than the ceremony. They go to Downtown Disney for dinner or to the courthouse to get their license or even to the airport!

I figured as much. Florida sun is pretty hot, that I'm sure of. Our ceremony is Thanksgiving week, hopefully the weather will cooperate. It should be a lovely walk in the morning. I'm hoping for the 10:00 Spot.

Thanks for all of the input from everyone. I think DH and I will drive over for the ceremony.

Here's a food question. What's the latest time I can schedule Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare? on All Ears it says breakfast 8:00 - 11:30am. Can I schedule our group right at 11:30?

I'm sure in Nov. the walk will be lovely
as for ADR's you can book an 11:30 and the do prefer you do this if you have a large group....Just be aware they will be closed down the buffet...I know last time we just made it in the omelet station closed before we finished breakfast, so I’d be sure to ask them what time they do shut things down.

We purchased several to take our guests back to their hotels after our DFW dinner reception and we still came out cheaper than extending the limo hours or renting a new one.

The transfers on Disney property is only $21 each way. Have your coordinator give you more info or book for you. :thumbsup2

**Just something to think about in case it rains. =)

Can you elaborate on that? What are the transfers (is it disney transportation or something like mears)? Are transfers one-way?

I will have to look on my paper work; but as of last year you could book an on Disney property one-way transfer for $21 per car. The cars were like Lincoln Sedans (4 -door).

Our EM booked all of our transfers/transportation. However, I know that they used the same company for our "resort/courthouse/resort" as they did for the one-way transfers and the limo charter.

We used the limo to pick up our guests (grouped by family/hotel) to take them to the WP and after the wedding and group photos; the driver discreetly swept groups away to the Polynesian for dinner....while we were taking just the 'wedding party' photos. I didn't even notice. By the time my husband and I finshed taking our outdoor pics; everyone was gone and we were the only ones left and arrived at the Poly to thunderous applause. =) This was the end of our 4 -hour limo charter.

We had about 4/5 towncars waiting for us after dinner. Again, groups of 2 -4 folks got into each car and was driven back to their respective hotels.

I will try to look up the company info. In the meantime, just run it past your EM for clarifications. Hope this helps!

I just heard back from my wedding coordinator about swapping the limo for another perk. She said that a swap for something else isn't possible, but it is possible to use the limo for 4 hours (which is what's included in the intimate wedding package) on an alternative day and not for the wedding.

Can't blame a girl for trying, right? :smooth:

Thought I'd let you all know!

Yes, this is true and the 4-hours must be consecutive. :)
