Hi all,

I just wanted to know how long you are entitled to hire your reception venue when booking a wishes package?

Thanks!:goodvibes

What you're alotted is 1 hour cocktail/pre-reception and then 4 hours for the reception. If you go over that there's an extra charge.

That's strange. Our Wishes event was 4 hours total. Cocktail hour was 6-7pm and reception 7-10pm.

If your reception is outside, it has to end by 10:00, otherwise, it's 11:00, for a 5:00pm ceremony. Cocktails 6-7:00pm.

Our reception was at the White Hall Room. Our cocktail hour was on the patio and we had the patio open to our guests the entire time. I don't think that is considered an "outside reception". Actually, I know it isn't. I do remember on my contract it first said the reception was from 6-11pm. But when I questioned my wedding planner she said the DJ is contracted for 4 hours so that is how long our reception is. If I wanted to go till 11pm I had to pay the extra hour for the DJ and any drinks consumed, but nothing extra for the room itself. When I flat out asked when we had the room till she said 6-10pm. So I guess they leave the extra hour as an option in case you want to extend the reception.:confused3

My LOA says 5 hours and any time over is a $400 charge, on my contract it says "reception: Ariels 1-6pm"

Mine says 5 hours too. 5 pm ceremony, cocktail hour from 6-7 and reception from 7-11.

I will not be happy if they try to change it to 4 hours total later on, but I guess we'll see in a month at the PS.

I didn't know there was an alloted time?

We are hoping to have Whitehall/Patio 3.30-8.30 and the Sago Cay for 2 hours. I didn't realise the minimums were only for 4 hours, guess we'll just have to pay the extra for the extra time.

Hey, your planning session is right before mine!

I'm sorry I'm fairly new to the posting thing, I don't know how to copy the threads.

Anyways, my reception is also at the Whitehall Room and patio. The only thing I can think of, is if you used your DJ for the cocktail party, then that would be your 4 hours of music that you paid for.

Our cocktail hour is from 6-7:oopm with no music. We could have ordered a violinist or something but chose not to. Then our reception is from 7-11:00pm. We were told that there could not be a party on the patio past 10:00 but I'm sure if a few people were out there past that time, they won't care.

My guess would be that if you used you DJ for your cocktail reception too, then you would have had to pay him for the additional hour of his play time.

Mine is also on 3/26! Where will you be going? I'll be at the Yacht Club convention center for our tasting and then to Franck's for the rest.

My tasting is at the GF at 9:30 am but otherwise we'll be at Franck's so I'll probably see you there!

Thanks for the replies.

Guess I will ask Disney as everyones reception times seem different :rotfl:
