My husband and I will be in WDW next week (woo woo) and I was wondering how long the DVC tour is... we currently have it scheduled for Monday - May 21 - but - I think I would like to change it to the morning that we leave... what do you all think?

What all is included in the tour?

Thanks :)

From my experience, a tour should last approximately 1 hour at the most, that is unless you have lots of questions and maybe you just go for it and sign the bazillion documents and join! I would suggest that you call DVC when you arrive, tell them of your circumstances and time frame, and they will make all the arrangements for you! Have a great time!

Actually we already have been in contact with Megan Butler :) So - we have set taht up - I just totally forgot to ask about how long... :)

What all do we do on the tour?

The tour can be as long or as short as you make it. When we went, the formal part of the presentation lasted about 1 hour. We then went off with our sales guy(Mark Webb, who was very nice!!!!)and he gave us a tour of each of the units. We then sat down with him and went over financing, rules and regs, and all the "particulars"of the DVC. We were there about 2-2 1/2 hours. At the end of the tour, you could make your own sundae in a little sundae bar they had set up at OKW. I don't know how they do it now, since they're not selling out of OKW anymore.

I do not recommend you do it the day you leave. My experience was great. Absolutely no pressure sales at all!! Total length of our tour was about 40 min of presentation ( looking at the rooms and what each collection consisted of), followed by a discussion of finance options (10 min) then sales paperwork of 20 minutes (we bought on the spot). I would not go your last day as you will definently have questions and want to look around at each property. When you go for your initial tour, everthing will be done on site at the Boardwalk (they have mock up rooms to view). Since you will be only able to purchase at the Wilderness Lodge, insist on seeing that property during your tour after the sales pitch. You will regret not seeing what will become your "Home Resort". Good luck, enjoy, ask lots of questions, and oh yea...don't forget your checkbook!

The first time we looked we were in and out in 35 minutes. The second time, we bought and were there for 3 hours, although very enjoyable. Also, I looked over every page. We were there last week and talked about adding on points. They have two sets of decorated rooms: One set is decorated like VWL and the other is decorated like BWV. Don't worry, however long it takes it will be enjoyable and low/no pressure.
