How long have you owned points in DVC, and what was the cost per point when you purchased? Just trying to see what it would cost me if I decided to wait a few years. Thanks

When I bought into the DVC in May of 1992 for $52 a point, I was sure I was doing something dumb. If you look in the encyclopedia under "dumb" you will see someone buying a timeshare. It actually surprises me how well it has turned out. Just do it.

I can remember with 2 out of 3 of our contracts:

1- BWV in 10-00 at $67 per point

2- BCV in 02-02 at $70 per point (constuction price)

3- BCV but cannot remember when or how much

5 years ago we bought into VWL at $75 a point. A year later we purchased BWV for $62 a point on the resale market.

By the way, there's another thing about waiting. In addition to the cost going up, the years of usage keeps getting shorter too!

We bought in March 2003 at BCV for $84 per point (and sold back the first year's points to get an extra $10 per point off). So $74 per point.

Funny, I was just looking through our DVC stuff today. The first tour we did was in 1999. We could've bought BWV for just $65 per point. Oh how I wished we had bought in sooner!!

I wanted to buy at $45 per point when DVC first began in 1991. I couldn't convince my DH until June of 2000 to finally become members. My parents had the same problem- my dad didn't want to join. We all became members in 2000, my sister soon followed aand my biohter joined at SSR last year. It's the best thing we ever did!

Bought last October (10/05) and paid 83.30/point.

We started 9/05 with a resale contract $83.97, then DVC came out with a price of $83.30 so we added on in 12/05. We hadn't planned on adding on so soon, but it was the best price I'd seem in a few years. It look us that long to finally take the plunge.

Now I'll have to behave for awhile.
