How long have you left your children with a sitter while you were at WDW?

My DH and I will be celebrating our 5th Anniversary at WDW this year. We would like to the backstage Magic tour. Only problem, it is 7 hours long. I am very worried about leaving my 7 month old and 2 1/2 yr old with a "new" person. What do you suggest I do?

Just my opinion, but 7 hours in a strange place with a stranger is too long to leave your two young children. I know this is your anniversary, but maybe you could save the tour for another time, when the kids are older. Try and think how they would feel. It is scary being in a strange place, and even scarier when your parents are not around. Maybe you should consider going for a long weekend and leaving the kids with a family member if that is possible. Believe me, I know it is difficult when you have to give up things you want to do because of your children, but that is part of being a parent. Also, from your worries already, you probably would be miserable the whole time worrying about your kids. That wouldn't be any fun. Hope it all works out for you. ;)

We left our 3 children with Fairy Godmothers for a little less than 3 hours once. Two were already asleep when we left, the 3rd shortly after. They were 3 months, 4 and 9 at the time. We probably wouldn't do it again only because my husband just can't handle the fear of leaving them with a stranger. He said that he felt sick the entire time we were gone. Sorry that I am no help to you here. We're all in the same boat!

Debbie
