We have a breakfast scheduled at kona. We are headed to epcot after that. Wondering about how long we should expect the ride to be? Don't you have to go thru the TTC (i think that's what it's called). Do you switch monorails there to get to epcot or stay on? we've done the monorail mostly just from MK to the MK monorail resorts. Once we did from MK to Epcot and i remember it being confusing for us...it was our first time and we were trying to make an early am ADR. Anyway, just trying to avoid that again. Thanks in advance!

yes, if you get on the monorail at the Poly you are on the resort loop which will stop at the TTC and you will have to get on another monorail to Epcot. To save time you can catch the Epcot Bus at the resort

From Poly you have two options. You can walk to TTC ad simply get on the EP monorail. Or you can get on the monorail at Poly, ride to TTC, get off and transfer to the EP monorail. Depending on how fast you walk, how well the monorail is running, etc. you are looking at a 15-25 minute trip.

30 minutes or so.

I would walk from to the Poly to the TTC and then take the Epcot monorail from there.

There are 2 MK monorails the direct TTC/MK line and the resort/MK/TTC line.
There is one TTC/Epcot line.
To go from Poly to Epcot you can:
Take the resort monorail from the 2nd floor in the lobby (right by Kona) to the TTC then walk over to the Epcot monorail.
Walk through the Poly grounds to the TTC and onto the Epcot monorail.
Walk out the front of the 1st floor of the ceremonial house (lobby) and take the Epcot bus.
I like riding monorails so I tend to monorail to TTC then take the Epcot monorail - which is a nice long ride and circles above Epcot before it stops.

I didn't think there was a bus between Polynesian and Epcot?

If you take the resort monorail from Poly to TTC, note that it runs clockwise so you will be doing a full loop through Grand Floridian, MK, and Contemporary before getting to TTC. It would probably be quicker to walk from Poly to TTC, and then getting on the monorail to Epcot.

Buses from the Poly to EPCOT only run during times when the monorail is down, so during normal operations taking a bus from the Poly to EPCOT is not an option.

The walk is really quick - much more efficient that taking the resort monorail and then changing at the TTC.

Ok, looks like I'll walk to TTC then monorail to epcot. I'm kind of wondering how I'll know where to go though. I do see a PP poster a map, thanks so much! But are there signs? Or a resort map i can pick up?

Just head in that direction on any sidewalk. (East. Beach to your left, parking lot to your right.)
The Poly will end and there you'll see TTC.
It's not easy to miss.

Another easy way:
Walk the sidewalk under the monorail beams going east.
They lead directly to the TTC.

I will note that the Resort Monorail line is running clockwise, so @kayteekt would have to make stops at the Grand Floridian, Magic Kingdom, and Bay Lake Tower before getting to the Transportation Center. It might be nice on a hot or rainy day, but sure eats up more time than a short walk from the Polynesian!

I think that's what we'll do, thanks!

There are signs that point you in the right direction to walk to the TTC all over The Poly as well. But just head out the front door of the Great Ceremonial House, and follow the sidewalk along the monorail beams is the easiest.
