Planning to visit Niagara Falls Sept 5-10. We applied for Passport Cards today. Wondering if people are getting the cards within four weeks, or if we need to look for a new vacation destination!

This would be our first visit to the Falls and we are really hoping the cards come in time.

ROUTINE SERVICE
As of (Monday August 3, 2009 ), we are processing routine applications in approximately 4-6 weeks from the time of application.

EXPEDITED SERVICE*
As of (Monday August 3, 2009 ), we are processing requests for expedited service, that include overnight delivery to and from the Passport Agency, about 2-3 weeks door-to-door*.

When we applied for the kids I had them in hand in 10 days. I was shocked. At that time routine was 4 weeks and expedited was 2 weeks. I think you should be OK. :)

Good Luck! Ours took a LONG time. Was there a reason you did not expedite?

Hope you get to go to Niagra Falls , we had a lovely trip. You can also go to a Fort in the area as well.....sorry forgot the name (is it fort henry??)
Anyhoo, if anyone likes history, it was good!

we did the actual passport, not the card and I got mine back in 2 weeks. I didnt pay to expedite.. just did it regular..

me and DH did it at the same time and he hasnt recvd his yet.. just got email saturday saying its been mailed.. so he should have this week, which would put his at 3 weeks..

We received our passports less than 2 weeks after we applied for them. I'm glad we didn't pay to have them expedited (not that we needed them that fast anyway).

We process the applications in my office and we are told to tell people 4-6 wks, but we have many people tell us that they have gotten their passports (cards) back in 2 wks.

Thanks everyone, I am keeping my fingers crossed.

BTW, the reason we did not expedite is that the cost went from $45 each to over $120 each. For that diff, we will consider changing our travel dates or destination.

My dd and I applied for our cards on June 11 and had them 4 weeks later.
