My fiance has been getting tons of questions from his mom. The question he's been asked now 3 times this week. How long do we have to stay.

Her plan show up on Sunday in time for the rehearsal dinner (missing the rehearsal) and leave Monday night after the wedding. Now, both of DFi's parents are retired, so there isn't any getting back home for work. That would have been my first thought when he told me her suggestion.

I've asked DFi to say that I suggest Friday night-Tuesday morning. I think if they must stay as short as possible Saturday afternoon-Monday night.

I'm not sure the best way to handle the situation.

Thanks.

Wow! :scared1: I dunno how far they have to come, but Sunday afternoon-Monday evening is a mighty stressful two days of travel!

If they are flying, you might be able to appeal to their sense of, um, cheapness by pointing out that the cheapest days to fly are Saturday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. So if they did Saturday to Tuesday, at least they'd be around a little bit longer....

Our wedding was on a Monday morning. Most of our guests arrived on Thursday (most of our bridal party, my dad, DH's side of the family). Most spent Friday and Saturday in the parks. Our rehearsal was Sunday morning and then we did a rehearsal breakfast after. Our wedding was Monday and most of our guests left Wednesday. Our bridal party went to MVMCP the day after our wedding.

I guess it really is up to them. I would think the least amount of time should be for your Monday wedding is for them to plan on arriving on Saturday and then leaving on Tuesday. Not sure if they are flying or not but one of my BM that was supposed to get in Saturday morning - well her flight was delayed out of NY and she had to fly through Texas to arrive in Orlando :confused3. If they are flying they should really consider flight delays. Not sure what time your ceremony and reception are over but I cannot see flying home the day of the wedding after the reception. We had an IllumiNations DP so if anyone was leaving early they would miss that.

They live in Atlanta. hrmm..I'll have to mention flight prices. I know a rental car will be involved if they fly. DFi said when his mom asked they felt they should be "entertained" any day they were there, and DFi doesn't care to see his parents on the Tuesday.

Our ceremony will be at 9am and we expect everything to be done by 2pm.

We aren't having a dessert party. Unless they open up some new Wishes options. Maybe we could do that as the rehearsal on Sunday night.

We also know that my brothers and their parents need to go home that night. One of my brothers will be in his senior year of high school and he can't miss school, because he'll fall behind.

Most of our friends and my family will be arriving on Friday. Some are arriving earlier and making a week long trip out of it. Even DFi's brother plans to arrive on Thursday or Friday and make a big weekend out of it.

Nor should he have to - he'll be on his honeymoon! :cutie:

Again, I say :scared1: Fortunately, Disney has entertainment down pat, so surely his parents can find plenty to do on their own. Sheesh!

I am so with you on the :scared1: I think she's going to do what she wants, and that DFi is going to decided that if they stay until Tuesday to do something with them that day. (unless I put my foot down about it) He's a mama's boy, but won't admit to it.

At least, they're going to stay onsite. I hope. I'm also not going to let her anti-ness get to me. She'll probally change her mind a few more time before we give clearance for family to book anything.

Thank you so much. You're always so much help :worship:

My mom is the only family I have to worry about because most coming up have said that they are leaving the day after our wedding. My mom is staying until our MK shoot and then she's taking one of our cars (mine or DFi's) home with all our major things like my dress. My mom lives with us now since she got divorced so her staying with us was a given during our pre-wedding days. We plan on staying through Christmas till the 28th but everyone else, including my mom, will be home by christmas eve.

My MIL acted the same way. The only reason she showed up at all was because my SIL booked everything for her! (I truly believe that!)

She came on Fri, was there for Fri dinner, wedding Sat and she did end up spending the day with us on Sunday at DHS. She flew home Sun night I believe.
