How long for Airmiles tickets to arrive?

We are not going until December but have our resort booked. I have enough for one set of tickets, possibly will have enough for a second set before we go. In saying that, I have a couple of questions"

Will it make a difference if I have to purchase the third set of tickets?

Is there an expiry date on the tickets? If I order them now can I hang onto them until we arrive on December 31st and still be able to use them?

We are staying at Art of Animation again this year. Will we be able to link the Air Miles tickets to our MagicBands and book our FastPasses 60 days in advance, the same as if we purchased our tickets directly through Disney?

Lastly, if we want to purchase the dining plan, can we do this with the Air Miles tickets or does Disney require we purchase tickets through them? Or can you purchase the dining plan even if you didn't have park tickets?

TIA!
Lisa
You can add your Airmiles tickets to your MDE account and then make FP+ at the 60 day mark. I have done this myself and it was very easy. Purchased VS. Airmiles tickets have no difference on your account.

The tickets do not expire...only Disneyland tickets have an expiry.

You would have to book a package from WDW that includes tickets to be able to add the DDP. You can not buy the DDP without tickets. In most cases the DDP does nothing for you except prepaying for meals...there is little to no savings. You can do better with a room only discount and then pay OOP for your meals.

Just to be clear, the only way to add the dining plan is to purchase our tickets directly from Disney? I know we may not really save money, I just liked the ease of using my MagicBand and knowing I did not have to pay any further for our meals.

Correct, you must purchase a package from WDW that includes room and tickets to be able to add the DDP. You can pay for everything with your magicbands....you don't need to have the DDP to do that. I would suggest that you do the math on what/where you will eat and see what the cost is. Although it sounds like you are getting your tickets from AM so you can't add the DDP anyway.

Another way to get the Dining Plan, other than booking a Magic Your Way package through Disney, is if you use a DVC rental. If you rent a DVC villa then the DVC owner can also add a Dining Plan on for you. You would need to give the DVC member your credit card number though OR you could buy Disney Gift cards with the amount you need to cover your dining plan. It's explained on David's DVC Rentals website www.dvcrequest.com under the Features Section where it says Dining Plan. I have rented a DVC villa through Davids but it was for Aulani so didn't need the dining plan there. I don't know what resort or rate you have and not sure if you would want to switch out to rent a DVC room. There are pluses and minuses to it. A big plus is a deluxe room for a better rate. A big minus is the non changeable and non refundable portion of it. Just thought I would throw out that option.
