My DH is thinking of purchasing into DVC as he feels since I need my "fix" to go to Florida every year, and the amount of $ we have spent on just lodging alone throughout the years - it will be worth it in the long run!! We are thinking of Beach Club villas as a friend of his joined last year on his trip and is at this moment enjoying his first vacation "home" as you call it!! :p
Does anyone know how long the entire "tour" process takes? and do they give you anything as a "thank you" for taking the tour? DH's friend received free meal coupons for his family last year when he took the tour? thanks!!

A couple of sore points with me. First, I was promised that the tour would only be an hour in length. Unfortunately, when I looked at the clock, I'd been there 2 1/2 hours! And I was told later, that if I'd bought then, it would have taken more time. Also, I was promised fast passes for taking the tour. Well, I forgot until after I got home, but I never received any fast passes. After we bought, I called my guide, told him the dates we'd be visiting for the first time, and reminded him "You still owe us those fast passes!" Guess what? It's been 3 trips, 2 add-ons, and we're still waiting for our promised fast passes.

I'd allow 2 hours for the tour, plus some transport time to/from the sales office (depending on where you're staying). Also add time if you decide to buy to sign paperwork etc.

The only "perk" we got was a photo and an ice cream sundae...that was when the sales office was located at OKW.

The presentation is not high pressure. The Guide will continue the tour/presentation as long as you remain interested in the info.

We were there for about 2 hours on our first trip, and again on the second visit several days later. It was very low key and I had mant questions, all of which were answered. DD stayed with us while DS had a blast in the "kid's area". It was just DD and I on the second trip, and I asked to see another type of villa, which our guide was glad to do. Actually, the whole process was so realaxing that the time literally "flew" by. Even the cotton candy was great, and I usually detest the stuff! We were given 4 "Connections" vouchers for free meals for the family, an very nice perk!:D

I am always on a perpetual "tour" of DVC in my mind :) and have been since 2000, so...that's 43 years worth of "touring" for me!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Actually, the tour can be quick, if you're not interested. If, like us, you ask LOTS of questions...figure one at least 2-3 hours. But enjoy it...It tokk a long time, but was very relaxing and exciting for us!

If you go on a tour use your friends name as a referral--that way if you buy he will get a bonus. Massachusetts is one of the states that allows a referral bonus. Barb
