I am planning my first solo trip and thinking 6 nights/7 days. Will that be too long to go solo? I don't plan on doing the waterparks by myself. This will be my first trip to WDW without my DS or any family and friends whatsoever.

I think my first solo trip was also 6 nights. The next was 8 and the one I'm taking this fall is 8

Hi NeverlandPixie. I am going for 7 nights solo at the end of september. I do not think it is to long. I am traveling from the UK. For me anything less would not be worth the effort.

I usually fly in on Saturday morning and out the next Sunday night, so eight nights, nine days for me. I'll be there Sept 29th-Oct 7th, then again Dec 8th-Dec 16th.

Hey Tim, it's pretty much the same for me coming from Canada. There are no direct charters so I have to first get to Minneapolis, Chicago or Denver, and then go on to Orlando from there. I try to get really early am flights so I at least have close to a half-day on the first day and try to leave as late as I can without overnighting somewhere.

My first WDW solo vist was 8 nights, 9 days. The next one 10 nights, and the last one 5 nights--only because it was spontaneous and cheap! :) With a five-hour flight, I usually won't go for less than 8 days/7 nights.

Don't worry--you won't run out of things to do! ;)

I did 10 days but I'm another coming from the UK, plus I was doing a dolphin swim at DC for my 40th b'day, so took 2 days out for DC and SW-I'll be truthfull and say by the end I was desperate for someone to talk to!:goodvibes Just to tell them what a great time I was having, but its a small price to pay for 10 blissful days doing WDW at MY pace (ie very quickly!)

If you feel like you're burned out mid-week, sleep in, then maybe check out another resort, have lunch there, come back to your resort and have a swim and then a nap, and THEN head back to a park (if you feel like it), or maybe to the movies or shopping at DTD.

You could also book a treatment at one of the spas for a "get away from it all" break.

Look at it this way: MK is worth at least two days by itself. Epcot is worth another two. With MGM and AK taking up a day each, there's six days right there. And if your seventh day won't be a full day, you can spend any brief amount of time you have available shopping at DTD or catching a last minute ride or show at one of the parks. And I guarantee that there will still be much that you didn't have time to see or do. So your visit to WDW definitely won't be too long. :thumbsup2

My first solo trip was 12 days/11 nights. All but 2 of those days were solo and I never felt bored! I did find that I spent my time a bit differently since you can get so much done when you are by yourself. I really loved it. My next solo trip (unless someone decides to tag along) will probably be probably be 5 days and the one following that will probably be 8-10 days.

Well, bravery aside, I think this what I'm going to do, subject to EMH (any suggestions, additions?):

Day 1: Check in, explore resort and, if not too tired, go to Epcot.

Day 2: Epcot am (Segway tour), ferry to Boardwalk, back to resort and MK in pm.

Day 3: MK in am, monorail to Epcot in pm.

Day 4: AK most of day, resort, DTD/PI later in the evening.

Day 5: Sleep in, resport hop, Epcot for DiveQuest.

Day 6: MGM in am (other than RnRC, ToT and ST, MGM doesn't appeal to me as much as the others), resport hop the afternoon, and back to MK for pm.

Day 7: Depart.

Thanks!

Your plan looks fine to me. My only advice would be to "go with the flow". One of the nice things about going solo is that you can change plans on a whim. So, let's say that you are at EPCOT on day 2 and you decide that you want to stay longer or go to MK earlier, just go for it!

Donald, you are so right. That's actually what made me jump in and book this solo trip! Basically, I want to do the things that I couldn't with my DS(6) before when it was always go, go, go. So, I really want to do the Segway and Divequest tours, hit the Boardwalk and DTD/PI for shopping and people watching, and the rest is all gravy!

PS. Is it recommended that solo's make ADR's or, as a solo, is it pretty easy to get into restaurants?

Thanks!

That's my thoughts exactly I loved going with the GKs but there were many restaurants I wanted to try that I knew they wouldn't enjoy like Boma and I want to see all the evening fireworks and Spectra and kids just were to tired. I stayed alone to watch Spectra and LOVED it Will definately watch it every chance I get!! Being solo will give me the freedom to do what I want. Only trouble is it is more expensive fdue to room!
