I thought i remembered hearing somewhere that after 6 months your account was deleted automatically by VMK. I have a friend on my friend list that hasn't been on since 06/24/2007. Does anybody know how long it takes for vmk to delete an account?

Yeah, it's supposed to be six months. I was also under the impression that the person would disappear from your friends list when their character was deleted from the game. I just posted on another board that I had a friend who hadn't been on since early July who was still on my friend's list. Maybe they wait until after you try to log back in after 6 months to delete your character??

I have at least one person on my friends list who last signed on June 1, 2007. From that I infer either that: they sweep the old accounts out at irregular times, or that friends stay on your list even if they got deleted, or that the deletion isn't made until the end of the sixth calendar month, or they stopped deleting old accounts.

I'm interested in seeing what happens February 1. If he's still there, maybe the policy has changed. Don't know him in real life, so I don't know what happens if he signs back on now.

I know that banned accounts stay on your friends list even after a ten year ban goes into effect, since Mizbubble still shows up on my list, and she got a pretty wicked ban and hasn't been on since August.

I have a guest friend who is very low in numbers, who last visited on 08/09/2005. :confused3

I have a friend who has not visited for an enitre ear..?

Does anyone have a mule they haven't used in 6 months to see what happens if you try to log back on?

Yes, and it came right back online when I tried it. Now my sister has lost 4 accounts she used on a daily basis over the same time period, and it was always while they were doing enhancements to the site. Her accounts showed up in friend lists, but she could not log into them. After several replies to the black hole, she actually got a call from someone at Disney. They said the accounts were still there, but could not help with what password would open them up. So after some time she finally told the guy she would be happy if they would just transfer her items and the born in park badge to her other account, so they did it.

Now she has double of a few pins(non-tradeable) everyone else has only 1 of, including dual drivers licenses. Is'nt that against the law?

I'm not sure what their new policy is, but I know that when they first started deleting accounts after 6 months of inactivity, the people did disappear off of friends lists. I have two friends whom I introduced to VMK, they played a few times but lost interest. I kept them on my list even though they never played, but when the deletion policy took effect, they were *poof!* gone.

I think they have changed the policy. It was 6 months almost to the exact day. Now I have a couple friends that I am hanging onto that have not logged in in 8-9 months now. I think VMK heard too many complaints and has ditched that 6-month policy.

ETA: Accounts that have been wiped out DO come off your friend's list. That's why I believe VMK is no longer deleting old accounts...

If your character "expires", then you still have your login id, but when you log in with it, you will have to choose a new character name. You retain any credits you had, but lose your items and rooms. You get whatever you would get for being a new character, and if your original character was Born In Park then you get whatever you would get fromt that. (rooms, black mickey ears, badge, etc). I would never suggest having one of your Born In Park characters keep expiring just to get new black mickey ears after you traded the other ones to your main character.

My niece's account was deleted in August after about five months of inactivity. So, I don't know how accurate the six month thing is. I was watching my niece's account, and noticed she hadn't been on in a while, so I tried to log in to keep it active, and they wanted me to create a brand new character. It was just under five months.

This looks as good a place as any, if you are banned for 10years do they remove the account after 6 months if so how is that fair as you are unable to keep it active??

a 10 year ban is a permanent ban. Its just their way.

I just triend something I logged onto my brothers account who was friends with my first account that I randomly couldn't log onto anymore even with the password the same. Well it has been 6 months since novemeber and he isn't on my brothers friends list anymore so yup it works.

I went through my friends lists on my two regular accounts, and the friend who has been offline the longest last signed in April 4, 2007. That's fully 10 months.

If you haven't being on your account for 6 months, then VMK automatically deletes it because it leaves room for more players to play.
If you want to keep your account, go on your account every once in a while. (even for a couple of minutes) If you want to keep your account active!
