5 days ago I caught what I thouhgt was a cold. No such luck. I've just spent my second day at home sick with a 102 fever and I am getting really tired of it. Anybody know how long this flu thing is supposed to last?

My dd is on her 5th day of fevers. Sorry, you could be in for a long ride. I hope you get rid of it sooner!!!!

I've been down since last Wednesday (8 days) and I still feel lousy.

Just as long as I'm well in time for my vacation on Jan. 8th. . .

forever or at least that's how long it seems like my DH has had it

My DH has the flu. He has been sick on and off since the 3rd week of November.

He has a 102 fever that just won't stop.

I have never seen him so sick. He is always the picture of health and this flu has really floored him.

Dr. said if the fever goes above 104 to take him to the ER.

One thing I do when someone has the flu is to make sure they don't have a stiff neck and can attempt to touch their chin to their chest. I'm always afraid of meningitis because so many college kids seem to get that in our town.

Hang in there!

DD had 6 days of fever. Days 4 & 5 were the days it was over 104. It is really a bizzare rollercoaster fever ride.

Certainly doesn't sound fun at all!!!

PD to you!! Hope you're feeling better real soon.

ugh I can't miss that much work. we're already down one person at work, so it's just me and the boss. I guess if he gets sick, we'll have to close the clinic. :( I just don't see how he could possibly do that.

My friend's hubby got the flu the Saturday after Thanksgiving...and he JUST went back to work this past week! (He went to the doctor - it was the REAL flu).

He still looks like death warmed over and lost a lot of weight. Not good.

I think I read that the flu symptoms can last anywhere between 5-10 days.

Hope you're feeling better soon, hang in there and keep yourself hydrated.

Hang in there. This is sounds like it is really turning into a scary flu season.
I have gotten the flu the last three years in a row, since we moved to this part of PA. I had never been sick with the flu until we moved here.
Each year it seems to get worse, so I am dreading this flu season.
Make sure you keep yourself hydrated, and see a doctor. The first year I got it, it turned into pneumonia and I was almost hospitalized.

So does this Stupid Flu make people stupid or only affect stupid people?

My 15 yr old DS is down with the flu. He had a fever on days 1, 2 and 3. The fever broke but he is still very tired and very queasy and it's day 6. He has missed a whole week of school - the first time either of my kids has been out that long!
