How long does Lights, Motors, Action last?

I'm fine-tuning my itinerary and would like to know how much time to allow for this attraction. I would like to attend the 3:55 p.m. show and possibly have time to cross the park to Sunset Blvd. in order to do RnR and ToT during the 4:30 p.m. parade. Is this possible?

I want to say the show is 20 -30 minutes long, however getting in and more importantly, out of the huge theater takes a LONG time. I think it took us longer to get out of the show than the entire show lasted. I honestly do not think you will be able to get out of the theater in time to cross the park.

Thanks, EsmeraldaX. I was afraid that would be pushing it. Any thoughts on which of the shows are the most crowded - 1:00 p.m., 3:55 p.m., 6:40 p.m.?

Also, if you have a fastpass, how soon you should still get there before showtime?

I have to respectfully correct Esmeralda's post...the show is 35 minutes long. But I want to also agree completely with her that it will take you a while to get out of the stadium, especially if you are sitting up top!

Also, at this time of year the later shows are more likely to be cancelled due to weather.

Hope this helps.

Bob

OK - you both have been very helpful. Care to help me some more? Here is my predicament: We have a 2:30 p.m. ADR at 50s PT for lunch. I'm afraid there won't be any way for us to get to the 3:55 p.m. showing of LMA. What do you think? How early should we arrive? If we get a fastpass, would we have to arrive as early?

If we can't make the 3:55 p.m. show, that leaves the 6:40 p.m. show. I had really planned on getting out of the park by 6:00 p.m. that evening to return to the resort for some pool time. If we went to the 6:40 p.m., what time do you see us actually getting out of the park (obviously 6:00 p.m. is out of the question!)?

I don't think you'll make the 3:55 show with a 2:30 ADR unless you have a FastPass. But keep in mind that the show times may change in the next five weeks.

If you go to the 6:40 show it will end around 7:15. By the time you get out of the Stadium and out of the park it will be 7:45-ish. Then you still need to get back to the resort, of course...

And I don't know how many people are in your party and what their ages are, but you need to make adjustments based on your walking speed.

Update: Bob, I just changed our ADR for 50s PT from 2:30 p.m. to 2:05 p.m. That should make it possible for us to make the 3:55 p.m. show, don't you think? Should I still get a FP for it before we go to 50s PT?

It couldn't hurt to get a FP if you can. That way you won't have to worry about getting in.

30 min before show starts so that should help.

Also, FP doesnt really give any advantage on how quickly you enter, or leave the theater or even where you sit. The standby line is on the inside track, and once they open the doors, FP is quickly merged with the standby line.

The theater is huge, and seats 5000 so allow time for the theater to fill, show, and exit.

I would say 30 minutes before, 35 minutes for show, and 20 minutes to exit.

When are you going?
I see your countdown is one month and one week....that puts you there the last week of Sept? Correct?
If so.....I wouldn't worry about getting fast pass for LMA!
Crowds are minimal in Sept!!
We were there in June and there was really no need for FP....
We did the afternoon show and the evening show. Both times, showed up about 15 minutes before start time and had great seats.
You will have plenty of time with the 2:05 lunch, then the 3:55 show.
The show lasts 35 minutes. then the walk out of the stadium and to the front of the park to the bus stop....
You should be on the way back to the resort by 5.

Thanks for the correction. I couldn't recall how long the show was.

I think this :

I would say 30 minutes before, 35 minutes for show, and 20 minutes to exit.

Is a very good suggestion.

The theater is enourmous. It takes a long time to fill. I don't think we had FPs when we went (we went in May) but we went to the last show and got in about 15 minutes before it started. There did not seem to be a lot of seats left however.

I'm not sure which show would be the least crowded. Like someone said, in Sept crowds are pretty light, but that could also mean they might change the showtimes, or you could face a cancelled show due to the afternoon thunderstorms that happen often in August and Sept.
