How long does it usually take to close on a contract?

Hey Everyone,

We just bought into AKV through DVC directly. Once we heard we only had to purchase 100 points, we just couldnt pass on the deal. We really only want enough to stay in a deluxe quality studio once or twice a year, and we usually travel in the low season ( like august) so it works out perfect for us. Anyways, we received our paperwork friday along with our temporary cards, filled out all the paperwork and shipped it out Monday. How much longer at this point until we are full fledged members and the contract closes? Also, when do we get the real membership cards? After closing? After our first stay??? Can't wait till our first stay in August. We really wanted to stay at the AKVs, but there was nothing available with such little notice. We are going to stay in a 1 bedroom at OKW, so hopefully, we'll enjoy our stay here too.

You will love it...but be careful, after the space in a 1bdrm it might be difficult to go back to a studio!

We bought 5/12 and closed in the first week of June. Membership cards came last week.

You are Members now. Closing can take awhile but it doesn't affect your membership. Call MS and they can give you your DVC Member website login info. The blue cards take awhile, they are processed in batches.

We bought on May 25 and closed on June 8, still waiting for the real membership cards.

We bought at Disney on May 14, and it was closed by May 29th.

awesome. It only takes about 2 weeks to close. I'm not in a hurry to get the blue cards. However, we do have a trip planned on August 3rd, but I guess we can always use our temporary cards for any discounts if for some reason we dont get our permanent cards before hand. Thanks!

We bought May 12, closed May 27. Got our blue membership cards a couple of weeks later.
