If we can get to the jedi training as soon as the park opens, about how long does it take to sign up? We have a 9:30 H&V reservation, and trying to figure out if we'd have time to fit in a ride in between.

10 minutes. The earlier you are in the sign ups, the earlier you'll have to return for the training though. If you get one of the first slots, you may be rushing back from your breakfast or even cutting it short.

So, I know I'm hijacking the thread a bit :flower3: but....

how do you sign up for jedi training? Sounds like it might be in person?? Is this a "get there as soon as the park opens" kind of thing?

If you are at dhs during FSF there is a new rope drop procedure with the rope not dropping until the stage show with Olaf is over. JTA goes to the left side of stage.

You can choose which slot best fits your schedule. My DD is an onstage JTA CM and when Fp+ began, so did the choosing of the JTA session of your choice. Just remember your child has to check-in 30 minutes before his chosen session or a waiting-list child may fill in the slot.

Child must be with an adult to sign up for JTA.

Sign-ups are in the Sounds Dangerous/ABC Sound Studio building. The CM will ask your child some questions and will assign him a session which fits into your FP and Dining schedule. Your child will need to report back approximately 30 minutes before his session.

If you aren't staying onsite, go on a non-EMH morning and get to the gates at least 45 minutes before park opening. Try to sign him up for a morning session. Because of the weather, JTA is often canceled in the afternoons. If the session does get canceled, a brief meet and greet with Vader and Stormtroopers will take place.

Has it changed recently? When my two sons did it, they filled the slots as you arrived. We were not allowed to pick a later slot which we preferred.

Yes. :) All you have to do is tell them which session fits into your schedule and if slots are available, that's where the kids will be assigned. FP+ is now the focus and in order to make it work, everything gets adjusted to the guests' FP+ schedule.

Does the new rope drop procedure affect when you can sign up if you are already in the park? We have an 8 am ADR at H&V so I was planning to leave H&V at 8:45 to sign up.

H&V is no longer an advantage for JTA. You will be held at H&V or directed to the Hat area. If you stay at H&V, you won't be released until the guests at the Hat begin moving towards JTA.

Oh wow I didn't know that! Thanks for the heads up. At least we will be prepared.

So what time do you think we will be able to head to JTA from H&V? We have a 9:10 fastpass for TSMM and then were planning to ride standby at RnR before reporting at JTA by 10:30 for the 11 am show. Will we be able to accomplish this by 10:30? If it helps we will be there on Friday Sept 5th. TIA for your help!

It will be very close to 9:00... maybe 8:55ish at the earliest. The Hat guests will be heading to JTA along the walkway next to the American Idol screen and you will have to circle the lake.

It's hard to judge RnRC. Sometimes the wait time shows 20 minutes and as we approach the queue the time changes to 70 minutes. There's always Single Rider, too. What if you did JTA > RnRC > TSMM? A little more walking but the RnRC line should still be short at that time. FP+ is supposed to get you on the ride within 10 minutes which will get you to JTA on time as long as you get to TSMM by 10:00.

That makes more sense to hit RnR and then TSMM before the window expires. Thanks so much! We don't mind the walking and as long as I can get the rest of my party moving it sounds like it is doable.

My daughter just did this on Monday. We arrived at rope drop and went straight to TSMM ( waited in line for an hour in SB!). Then quickly checked out Oakens, grabbed a return time for the Frozen Sing a Long and finally made it to Jedi sign ups at around 10:20. We were asked to have our MDE app open so we could pick the best time for us. All of the morning shows were full, the earliest they had available was for 1:30, but there was still plenty of availability after that. It seems like they take more kids now. Some are up on the stage, they fight Darth Vader, then they also had some kids fight Darth Maul in the area in front of the stage.

This is a similar plan to what we are doing. Glad to hear they are taking more kids.

Did the sign outside TSMM say 60 minutes when you walked in, or was it saying less? I really don't want to get in line and wind up waiting 60 minutes at RD (but once you are in line it's hard to get out of it).

The double show is Monday and Saturday only.

***No JTA @ 11:00 because of the Frozen Processional*** as I believe you will be there during September? You'll then have plenty of time as you can choose a later JTA.

We were at HS on Sunday at rope drop, but toward the back of the crowd. We went to sign up first thing and probably waited in line for 25 minutes. We had 3 boys to sign up and were given the option of a time that worked best for us. The boys each had to tell the cast member their age and confirm that they would be able to follow directions.

The cast member gave us a print out slip with each of their names and our show time. We were instructed to return 30 minutes before the show started with that slip in hand.

By the time we got through the line, with 3 kids doing the training at once, the earliest available show was 12:40pm. However, there were plenty of spots after that time as well. My guess is that they probably ran out of slots by 10:00 or 10:30 that morning.

I apologize of this is elsewhere - but does anyone have the Jedi times with frozen going on? Thanks!!
