how long does it take to go around world showcase

It all depends....if you go through the shops it could take all afternoon. Eating, drinking adds time. There are several attractions that will add time to your visit as well: American Experience, boat rides in Mexico and Norway, etc. You could spend as much or as little time as you want there. With kids it will be quicker as they get bored going through shops. If you are alone or with other adults you may want to spend time going through the shops and restaurants. Different strokes for different folks!!

I like to say half a day on average.....just to hit the highlights...
but you can easily spend a whole day there..
If your drinking please take the whole day....

Depends on how much you want to do. I literally could spend all day there (and have many times).

Just a leisurely stroll where you take your time, explore each pavilion, ride the rides in Mexico and Norway, watch American Adventure and Voices of Liberty, do some shopping, enjoy the architecture/detail - will take up a big chunk of your afternoon.

If you make plans to watch any of the movies (at France, China, Canada), see a couple musical performances (Off Kilter, MoRockin, British Invasion), see street performers (chinese acrobats, world showcase performers in England or Italy, etc.), eat lunch and/or dinner, see illuminations, and just generally take advantage of what it all has to offer, you can spend all afternoon and evening there, easily.

To me, this is why Epcot is a 2-day, or at least a 1.5 day park - because if you throw Future World into the mix, there is an absolute ton to see and do.

Normally, we visit Epcot on two separate days and we spend two one-half days in World Showcase. If you try to take World Showcase too quickly, you will feel as if you didn't see it all and you wasted your time and money.

Well said. Epcot is all about taking your time, appreciating the little things. If you blow through it, it will feel like a waste.

With my husband and child.. it don't take us long... she likes to catch the characters and watch the girls flip and do all the tricks in China... thats it really... sometimes we ride Mexico and Norway.. but my little girl don't like Norway... (the hill)

We walk around World Showcase quite often. Very often. Sometimes it takes us a half hour. On a weekend in October, we barely made it back to America in three hours. Depends on our mood, the crowds, if we want to see a show, if there's entertainment out. I'm taking my daughter-in-law next year and we're planning a whole day to do nothing but World Showcase.

But seriously, if you want to explore the pavilions and see the shows, the World Showcase alone will take up most of a day.

We have spent at least two days of every WDW trip at Epcot, and we have yet to explore every aspect of World Showcase. I know that seems odd to many, but I hate to rush through the individual areas. I think they have done, and will continue to do, a wonderful job every year of making each area newly interesting even for those of us with many trips under our belt.

I hope I never get to see it all........in that, I mean I hope it continues to change and evolve each and every year so I can have that same child-like anticipation of the upcoming exploration in the World Showcase.

As for the OP question, you could hit the highlights in a single afternoon, but don't neglect the tidbits that make each area the experience memories are made of!!

Lets not forget what time of you are going as well that will add time if you go during food and wine festival it can easily become a two day event and I think the same can be said if you go during Christmas to see all the decorations and performers as well. I would say other than these times i normally plan a day for exploration in the countries

We always schedule 2 days for Epcot. We get there at park opening and spend the first 3 hours or so at Future World, then off the World Showcase, we go. We take a lot of time in each country. There really is a lot to see. I also like to buy something from each country. Last trip, my goal was an ornament from each country. This trip I think it will be chocolate. YUMMY!!! LOL There is so much detail. I agree that it's best not to rush through it.

I luv Epcot so I want to see/do everything! Rides, shopping, making sure I don't lose my Mickey ears/sunglasses on the finale of Test Track, eating delish food, seeing IllumiNations, the ground all lit up @ nite etc!

We will never go back to Epcot in October.. it was terrible.. person to person to person! Very crowded with that Wine Festival... we aren't into drinking or tasting.. lol so it wasn't very fun for us...

We usually head there on the day we arrive and take the whole day. 3 years ago we didn't make it past Mexico and it was dark. Last time we went and made it all the way around and it was so cool. But I didn't know about the rides in Mexico and Norway??? What rides are there? The shops in Mexico are just great too, and there is so much to look at as well.
