How long do you visit WDW?

Family trips average out to about 8-9 nights total. We stay in a DVC resort, where we own, for part of the trip and then add a few days at the beginning or end at a different resort. This way we get to stay at our favorite (BWV) but also try out a new resort each trip. I do like to add in a solo trip during the year also. This way I do get to stop and smell the roses. I do the things I want to do, rather that which my family wants to do. Those trips are usually for about 5 nights. Which explains why I get an AP every year!!

6 days has been our max. Last year we did 4 days in the parks and were in Orlando for 5, tha last day we did Downtown Disney. But we did two timeshares which takes up 1/2 day! That's one of the reasons why we are staying onsite so I cannot be lured into going to a presentation. I always tell DH we won't and then that deal comes around and I just can't resist!!

We usually stay 4 nights and do the parks for 3 days, but we also go about 3 times a year. But ALWAYS on the last day at the parks DS6 and DD2 are asking about home. Whatcha think Lilo (cat), Helmet, and MiMi (Boston Terriers) are doing? THings like that. DD even said in Dec that she wanted HER bed on the last night!!!

We have been as few as 5 nights (not nearly long enough) to 10 nights. We went in dec. 05 for 7 nights & did the parks on the 8th day. We had a great time. The crowds were so low that we walked onto just about everything we wanted to ride. We don't do the water parks or spend a lot of time at DTD so all our time is spent in the parks. We did sleep in a little & come back to the room in the afternoons to rest. That was what my DS needed to keep him out of grouchland. I think for us 9-10 nights is what we need to have a great relaxing time without having to rush. We hop to different parks during the day. We will be taking "mini" trips throughout the year and our annual trip in dec. 06 for 9 nights. Can't wait!!!!!

We did seven nights / eight days in Dec and had a great time. The only thing was we didn't really have any down time and by the end of the week we were kind of getting on each others nerves. We have decided that next time we will definitely take a day to just relax and not wear ourselves too thin. Take time to smell the roses! BTW, the roses at MK around the pavilion across from the castle smell very yummy!! Go and have fun!

We did 7 days, then 10 days, and now are doing 10 days again!

Whatever my budget can afford we do! I am squeeze the 10 days because I want to maximize these AP passes. I really have to justify spending $800+ dollars for park tickets!

We go for 9 days. 8 nights. I would love to go for 2 weeks. But not having enough vacation time and money cuts it down to 9. The best 9 days of my life!

We were there the week after Thanksgiving. Checked into Fort Wilderness on Tues afternoon and set up camp. Then went to the campfire sing-a-long and swimming. Wednesday was Magic Kingdom at opening and stayed until closing with extra magic hours. Thursday we spent doing pony rides, going to different lodges and just walking around enjoying the different sites. Also rode the monorails through Epcot sitting up front with the pilot. Then Friday morning up early and packed up for the drive home to Central Illinois. So...3 days for us. Had a blast. But we only saw one park, although with a 5 yr old and 8 yr old I think Magic Kingdom is probably all we are ready for as a family.

When we started in 2001 we went for 4 days (I think). Over the years we've extended it by a day or two each time. We're up to 8-9 days each visit, which is a very nice duration for us.

We go for 4 days/4 nights which is perfect for me. :sunny: If I stayed any longer, I'd go crazy. Since we take short trips, we're able to take more trips throughout the year. We went in October for about 6 days and that was too long for me. Then we went in January for 4 days/4 nights and we're now thinking about taking a trip in early February for 4 nights/4 days. I'd much rather visit the World many times throughout the year than take a couple of long trips. We only visit Epcot during our trips but we do go to the Magic Kingdom for about an hour sometimes. :rotfl: I don't like Animal Kingdom and MGM so I don't go to those parks.

Before kids, we would go for 5 days. After our DS was born we tried 6 days (not long enough). Now that we have 2 kids, we tried 9 nights.. Just Right! I like to plan our trips starting after a weekend, that way we only have 1 busy Disney weekend to deal with (try to take a break that Sat.).

I would have to say that I am jealous of the 2 weekers. WOW! That would be great!

Depends on who's with us!!!

If others are with us....my daughters or my parents, ect...I like to do 7 nights and 8 days.

If it's just me and my DH, we can handle 4 nights, 5 days...we do early Monday AM and come back late Friday PM.

Of course I'd LIKE to do longer, but I'll take what I can get!!!! :cutie:

omg what a lucky guy....you read that and not get jealous while you sit back home in germany and have to wait maybe some years till you get back to WDW for say 5-6 days ? anyone wanna start a charity for me going to WDW ? :teeth:

Shortest we've done is 1 day (back when MK was the only park). Since the other parks were added, we stay a minimum of 3 nights, and our longest so far is 12 nights. Normally we do 5 or 6 nights each trip. We will be doing 6 nights in December, and either 5 or 6 nights in late May/early June next year.

I used to live in Los Angeles, and got to Disneyland several times a week and it still wasn't enough; I know if I lived anywhere near Orlando I'd be spending a LOT of my free time there! :earsboy:

Maxiv, are you at all close to being 18? you could apply to the International program and work at Disneyworld for a whole year! You could go and play at the parks every single day!

For me 10 days would be ideal. For DH 5 would be ideal. So we compromise with 8 days in FLA, 6 days in the parks 2 relaxing days ie: Arrival Day, departure Day.

Perhaps when the new one gets here I can have someone on my side for a longer time at WDW.

First trip in 2002 we went for a week and it was CRAZY!! We went to a different park everyday and we were all exhausted. I told my DH I wouldn't return until we could do 2 weeks so we could rest between parks and TA DA...this year we are doing 2 weeks! YEAH! This time I would like to drive to the beach (since we live in Illinois...my kids have only been to the beach one other time in their lives), visit my uncle who lives in FL and just spend some days RELAXING!

This will probably put us in financial ruin.... :scared1: , but I think we can do it pretty cheap. We are staying in a 2 bedroom condo off site, so a lot of meal will be eaten there!

We used to go between 7-10 days about 4-5 times a year. It was a 12 hour drive from Lafayette, LA.

Now, we go about 1-2 times a week as we moved here in June. When we renewed our AP's (FL rate), I asked how many times they were used:

Husband---25 times
Myself---50 times
10 year old son---52 times

We were here for just half the year so this year, I hope to double that number!
