How long do you think RnR will stay Aerosmith?

Let's face it, these companies float ideas all the time...some get to approval stage...some might even get to construction phase...before someone pulls the plug because of budget costs and everything goes back to the way it was.

Or just because they think better of it! Ideas and plans are floated all the time in most companies. Most don't come to fruition. I hope the other "ideas" for ToT never come to fruition -- they honestly sound awful to me. But time will tell!! :)

I'm not advocating to change it...in fact just the opposite. I keep wondering if they're going to get rid of the Aerosmith theme and use another more modern band. Aerosmith is no spring chicken, Steven Tyler is a senior citizen. I wonder if it could lose a connection with the younger generation.

I've been a huge Aerosmith fan for 30+ years, saw them in concert several times. RnR is unquestionably in my top 5 attractions in all of WDW, probably top 3. But a lot of it is because it's Aerosmith themed. If they changed it to a modern group, I think I'd still like the ride but be far less enthusiastic about it.

I can't imagine it would be all that difficult for them to leave the attraction almost completely as is, just use a different group. I sure as heck hope they don't, as I'll be severely disappointed. But it continues to be a popular attraction, so I'm keeping my hopes up that it'll stay Aerosmith for some time to come. Every time I visit WDW, I try to be sure to ride it just in case they do change it.

Disney guests value the nostalgia factor (in general, not just in relation to this ride), so I don't see it changing anytime in the forseeable future. Rock and roll, like there was in the 80's, isn't being produced anymore, by and large, anyway. They'd have to change it to a Rap coaster or Pop coaster, and I don't see that happening.

Bland Pop Roller Coaster Starring Taylor Swift! What are they going to do with the Aerosmith overlay? Shake it off, of course!

I still think a KISS coaster where you get blood spit on you with fireworks going off as Rock and Roll All Nite blasts away would rule.

I agree.

RnR fit in well enough into the L.A./Hollywood theme before (back when there was a "modern" studio backlot tour and FX show, car stunt show, America Idol, ABC Commissary, Academy of Television, etc. They all captured the L.A. scene pretty authentically.

Now? I think "Old Hollywoodland," "The Great Movie Ride" and the "Hollywood Studios" name are on borrowed time.

Indy's Stunt Show may go away, but since Disney spent a lot of movie for full rights to Indy, I expect he'll get bigger and better stuff in the future.

I think the old Hollwood theme can stay, it is just the RnR doesn't fit that.

I have no problems with a park that is about the movies:
Old HollywoodLand (which includes the Great Movie Ride and the Tower of Terror)
Muppet Studios
Star Wars Land
Toy Story Land

I just love the ride. They could be playing Lawrence Welk for all I care.

Not a big Aerosmith fan, so I'd be happy with a change to a different rock band!

Well...I just saw a high schooler with a NIN shirt, so I am sure Aerosmith is still pretty popular BUT they canned Captain EO officially after MJ died, so I am sure RnR will be changed up once Steve is gone too.
Hopefully they NEVER change it and don't cross over into Marvel Land, that will totally diminish Disney honestly, but Walt is no coming up with the creativity either.

Senior citizen or not, their music is timeless and even my 11 yo is a fan!! The movie can be updated, but we would be sad if it were changed... Not the same w/o Aerosmith.

I'm sure at some point it could be changed. However, remember that when the ride was opened that they weren't exactly spring chickens. I was surprised to find it was Aerosmith. Then something occurred to me: How many other bands are still performing that have had radio hits spanning a few generations of people. I got turned on to the band in the early 90s and saw them in concert around 94-95. I remember looking around then and seeing kids there with their dads and grandpas! Those kids might even have kids of their own now that know the band and music which leads to 4 generations of fans. Very few bands can pull that off. That is why they were chosen. And that is why they will stay for the forseeable future.

Just got back from Disney in Sunday. My teens and young 20something still know Aerosmiths music and find them relevant. A lot of the teens these days are into 80s music. We all thouroughly enjoyed the ride several times and there were long lines waiting to get in it all the time.

Oldest ds 22 said Steven Tyler put on an amazing show at the Endymyion Mardi Grad extravaganza in New Orleans this year. He was very impressed with his performance.

I don't see it going anywhere for a while.

Completely agree! My 20 and 17 year old love Aerosmith! Between Disney and Guitar Hero they are still relevant to my kids! Plus the take off with Steven Tyler screaming in my ear wouldn't be the same!

I broached the idea a while back that I'd much rather see RnRC re-themed to Guardians of the Galaxy than the rumored ToT makeover for multiple reasons, not the least of which is I feel a GotG ride would be much better suited to a roller-coaster than an elevator drop centered around The Collector.
