How long do you think it would take you to plan a Disney World vacation?

So today I was working on an outline for a trip report. :rolleyes1
And some more paperwork. I figured out what I need to do to get certified to teach in a different state. I called up the Dept of Education and the person kept answering me with "yes, ma'am"! I did NOT know some people still used the word "ma'am"! :lmao:

Yesterday people who had been in the main room were sent home at 3. (I was in a courtroom but didn't get selected so I was sent back to the main room for today.) Anyways, at 2:55! today I got called up to go to a different courtroom where they are going to select a jury....tomorrow! Yup, gotta go back for a 3rd day!

Oh ma'am I am so sorry you have to go back tomorrow. It makes me feel old when people call me ma'am. We still use that word here. It was passed as a law a few years back that students had to say ma'am when they were talking to teachers.

It's okay I don't mind the change in routine! :thumbsup2 Shhhh...I secretly like it!

Seriously? Yeah, ok....
I won't tell you what the kids say to us up here and get away with. But when there is no recess, gym, or computers to take away, and the office won't take them and you're not supposed to have them sit by themselves (it "hurts their self esteem" or something), the kids know they can get a way with a LOT. And they do.

So I think I missed your ADRs because you keep talking about them...must go investigate.

L,

First, I'm waiting to see you on America's Most Wanted...

Second, did I miss an update on whether Courtney's going?

Third, Bag talk......too much estrogen..;)

Fourth, there really is a law that you have to say Ma'am? Wow, I always just say, "Hey you!"

I can't believe that was made into a law!! But I guess it's better than the alternative words kids could use.

I very rarely hear ma'am but when I do it makes me feel ancient.

No I forgot to list my ADRs. I know bad diser. I made them but I am not sure if we are going to keep them all. I will explain later.

That's not funny. I hope you know how scared I was. I have never even been sent to the principal's office. I almost went hide in the cane field:scared1: . I bet you never would have guessed that I was a fugitive from the law.:rotfl2:

I hate when someone practically my age calls me miss Laura.

Update on Courtney

Courtney has decided to stay home with her grandparents. She started her new schedule at school yesterday and the teacher told them that if they miss more than two days of school (even if it is an excused absence) that she will drop them a letter grade. It would just be too much work to make up missing three days of school. Courtney makes good grades and cares about her GPA so we are not going to force her to miss school. I am sad but I understand. It will not be the same without her. I guess we will have to creat our own drama on this trip. Faron said maybe we shouldn't go without her. We are still going because even if she could go she doesn't really want to go. She just has a very good excuse.

It's a Southern Thing and I like it !! DSIL is from Alabama and always says "Ma'am to his Momma !! DGD has picked it up and says it to me a lot and I like it! Good manners never make me feel old !! Looking in the mirror does that!!:rotfl2: In England we always had to stand up when the Teacher entered the room . She would then say "Good Morning Class" and we would say "Good Morning Miss ......" and then sit down!!:)

They had to do that at Courtney's old school. They had to stand up when any adult entered the room.

So what happens if they don't stand up?

Wow....bummer about Courtney. That is a tough choice for you to have to make; to leave her behind or not.
Okay so I guess I didn't miss the ADRs then. I was pretty sure I'd read all your posts LOL.

I'm sorry that Courtney isn't going.
I'd be a little irritated with the teacher......dropping a grade because of more than 2 excused absences? Puhleeese!

Maybe that's because I'm a little miffed at one of my dd's teachers at the moment?;)

Disney World trip would be unexcused. I understand that but if she has a doctor's excuse for an absence how can she drop Courtney a letter grade. Courtney was telling me some stories about that teacher last night and she is off her rocker. Times like this makes me wish I was still homeschooling them.

:sad1:

It's sad that some teachers are that way. I'm sure that you are proud of her making a decision like that too. Too often teenagers live for the moment rather that looking at the big picture. It is really a mature choice for her to make.

I'm sorry for you too that Courtney isn't going. Sounds like she's making a responsible decision, though. You sure are raising a smart girl. First, she buys her own car (practically) and now she's skipping WDW for school:confused3 You should be proud. Now, you just make sure that boyfriend doesn't sneak over while y'all are out of town:rolleyes1 Hee hee.

Sorry Courtney isn't going. :sad2:
It is not going to be the same without her. She and I were just laughing about something and I was thinking how much I am going to miss her on this trip.

I am proud of her for making the responsible choice. I wouldn't have been so mature.

I don't think that will happen with Mamaw Lou on the case. She is going to hound Courtney to death. I am going to call her boyfriends mom and tell her about our plans to make double sure she checks on all of his plans he makes while we are out of town. Courtney can be sneaky but I always catch her. About a year ago she got caught sneaking out of the house. I could have kicked her butt. She was punished for months.

Hi .. I just found your PTR and I'm in. :thumbsup2 I know I lurked on your other TR, but I'm not sure if I posted on it or not. Any how I totally agree with you on not having to much LSU stuff.. my DBF is the SAME way .. yes he even has an LSU rubik's cube. :rotfl2:

I know how you feel about Courtney, but I think she is making a good decision. I was in highschool two years ago and we were on block schedule. I don't know if her school is the same as mine, but we could only miss TWO days of school the whole SEMESTER. If you missed three days you failed that whole semester. The other schools in our area that weren't on block schedule could miss 17 days for the whole year.

Oh and I must say Gracie is ADORABLE!!

Woo Hoo another LSU fan. My daddy has a LSU rubik's cube. I am glad you joined. Feel free to post as much as you want to. You don't have to be a lurker. Courtney did make the right decision because of her grades. I have to agree. By the way Brennan's room is totally LSU. He even has some LSU Fat Heads. The other day we Faron was watching a football game and Grace walked in and said LSU. She had the arm thing going too. I really have to post a more recent picture of Grace. Her hair is growing and the other day I was able to make her some little pig tails.

Aww that so cute. My little cousin who is 2 years old will randomly come in the room going "BUM BUM BUM" (like the first part of the LSU fight song. It's so cute. lol
