How long do we (as Canadians) tend to stay?

We live in B.C. so it is a pricey flight for us. We have been four times now and spend anywhere from 11 to 14 days.

You should fly from Seattle if you can, its much cheaper! I haven't flown out of YVR in 10 years!

Our average is 10 days. We've done a little shorter and a little longer, but 10 days is the average.

Mind you, we once stayed 10 nights at CSR and I was BORED out my brain with that resort.

So we either stay 3 days at the beach and a week at Disney. Or 5 nights at one Disney resort and 5 nights at another Disney resort.

Next trip we will stay a couple nights at the beach and then one or two Disney resorts.

All the trips but one have been for 7 days, 2007 was 5 days and this year Sept.10 - 19 is going to be our longest :cool1: maybe next year 2 full weeks... DW is going bonkers and cant wait any longer...:rotfl2: the first 3 trips flew out of TO and now we drive to Buffalo and fly for fraction of the price:thumbsup2

We have only been once...August 2007...we drove to Buffalo and flew out of Buffalo....was literally half the price from flying out of Toronto and the parking for the week was only $52.......we only went for 7 days and only bought 5 day park tickets...so we didn't really have any down time....next year we are going for 8 days, still only buying 5 day park tickets and having one day of down time....it wasn't bad doing it in a short time but I didn't feel that we were able to see or do everything we wanted...I know you can't do disney all in one trip but when we went we only got to see half of Animal Kingdom because we had dinner reservations at Jiko in Animal Kingdom Lodge at 6 pm so we left the park at 2 so my DD could go swimming before dinner....

I've been many times but never more than a week, 8 or 9 days when driving. I can see that with costs going up it makes sense to stay longer but I just can't find the time:confused3 And I'm afraid I'd get homesick and sick of restaurant food:rotfl:

We always fly out of Seattle (except for the time we used airmiles and flew out of Kamloops). It is WAY cheaper, especially when all 5 of us went. The drive to Seattle is just a couple hours longer than driving to Vancouver. We have also started flying out of Seattle when we go to Hawaii. AC is just so expensive!! I heard that AC's motto is "We're not happy until you're not happy".:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

We have those 7 day Universal tickets and 10 day WDW hoppers that don't expire + OODLES of water park tickets.

I'd like to do at least 4 days at Universal, 3 days at Disney, 2 -3 days water parks, 3 days beach and lots of relax days in between. I'm looking at 14 days minimum for the next trip. S:love:

Nothing less then two weeks. We usually go over Christmas.

Our first trip last year was for 7 days and it definitely wasn't enough. We are going for 10 days this year. We shall see...

I usually go anywhere between 10-16 days. Last 3 trips it's always been 14 days. All days are spend doing WDW & waterparks. But in all the last trips we've stayed a more than 1 off-site condo and a few days on site.

I usually buy annual pass, go for 2 weeks at the beginning of the pass and then go for 2weeks just before it expire. So I've never been to US/ Seaworld etc. etc,

Yes that's right I've never committed Disney adultery, 100% pure & faithful

This upcoming trip is 2 weeks on-site , with just a girlfriend and possible 1 weeks SOLO... and again, I won't be going outside of Disney (only for some meals & shopping). But next time I take my dd ( now a teenager) we will try out some of the other places

Your teen daughter will love you if you swing an onsite stay at Universal. It really isn't a sin to visit another park and you will be surprised at how front of the line can spoil you.

I've mostly just done WDW only because after 14 days the annual pass tickets are "free" ( they've paid for themselves) that how i convince DH, that the next years trip is not costing anything ;)

We live on the West Coast so we usually stay longer. We did one for 17 nights, one for 15 nights, and one for 9 nights. Usually with a stay the night before our flights out of Seattle and one on the way home too.

We're moving to Ontario next month and since it will be a fraction of the price for us to fly out of Buffalo we will probably take more frequent shorter trips.

Hi
I find a week isn't long enough. I've been there for a month. This time it will be for three weeks. I like to take my time and explore. Plus I love to shop so I need a few days just for that.

Hi;

We too are from Nova Scotia and like you the cost to stay that second week is uaually a minimum considering the airfare and gas price to travel to Halifax. We have stayed more than two weeks but usually stay in a vacation home which can be alot more relaxing in the busier times. We go atleast twice a year, staying in DVC once and vacation home the second time but last year we went for Christmas (in a Vacation Home) and have become hooked on that third trip. Are we crazy or what??? hehehe

Wendy, where is Tusket? We are in Bear Cove which is on the outskirts of Halifax, I would go 3 times a year too if I could afford it!

Tusket is just outside of YArmouth. Going to Florida is all we do. We sacrifice week end trips to the city and execessive eating out and we rent dvd's instead of going to alot of movies. We plan, plan and plan and it seems with a little luck in getting deals with flights and rental cars we manage. Again the rental home helps to. We can eat breakfast in and prepare snacks to take with us to the parks and the biggest bring our own frozen water to the park.

This will be our last trip for a while I figure. We hadn't planned on going back next year but we had sooo much fun in April when we went and the girls can miss a bit of school right now(no flames please) but I can't take them out once they start Jr. High so this will most likely be our last trip for a while unless we go over the holiday period. Do you fly from Yarmouth or do you take the CAT and then fly from the States?
