How long do the lights stay on?

First question: We are arriving LATE on 1/7 and I just found out that the Lights of Winter and the Osborne Family Lights are supposed to be "on" through the 8th. Does that mean the full displays will be available until closing time on the 8th, or is it like some other places where they start taking everything down the last day and there won't be anything left by closing time? We've never been there close enough to Christmas to see these before and would love to get a chance to check them out, but will only have the one day to do it.

Second question: If I had to choose between the two due to time constraints, which would you choose?

Although I'm not sure about this year, last year I saw them on the last night of the published lights. They were still fully "operational". I teased a CM there about "Are you going to have to run around and take these all down after closing?" So the next morning I went over there just to check things out and all the lights were still up. So the last night, based on last year, seems to be still a complete one.

That's great news! I think I'll have to change my "agenda" to include a trip to MGM that first day!

If the Osborne Lights are scheduled to be up until January 8'th they should be fully operational that night, except for burned out bulbs. No turn ons are guaranteed after that night.

For 2004-2005 the last scheduled night for Osborne Lights was something like Jan. 2 although the lights remained in place at least for a few more weeks. It also takes a few weeks to install the lights ahead of opening night.

Other holiday decorations are gradually taken down starting after New Years with most of the take down activity occuring in the nighttime hours.

If you get there and see them on the last day they're scheduled to be seen, you'll see the same thing someone who saw them on Christmas saw.
