How long do character meals last?

We have a 7:05 am breakfast reservation for Chef Mickey's. Will we be able to hit MK at rope drop? Would it be better to head to Epcot that morning - since for us getting to Epcot at rope drop isn't as big of a deal to us.

Around 60 minutes, sometimes longer depending on how long you have to wait for characters. It's a buffet, so the eating part is quick. If rope drop is 9, you should have plenty of time. You can either walk over or take the monorail.

As the other poster indicated, as long as it's a normal start day (not extra magic hours) you should have no problem getting there in time. They usually have the characters on a 60 minute circuit. Sometimes it may take a little bit longer, but I doubt you'll spend more than 90 minutes there. At which point you can walk from the Contemporary to the Magic Kingdom.

Agree with PPs: you'll be fine for a 9am opening, but not an 8am opening.

You should be fine and I suggest walking over. Ask for the check as soon as the waiter comes and if they forget, remind them. Sometime it can be a little slow here. Also, where are you staying? Getting to a 7:00 ADR at a resort can be a little tricky, and parking for the day may be an issue.
