How long did your typical school day last?

Mine was 8.55 to 3.05pm with 855 to 2pm on Wednesday

I think it was 8: 45 start in middle school....not 100 percent, but know we got out at 3:23. I had to rush home to watch Dark Shadows.

Elementary....don't remember. I went to 3 different ones.

I was a military brat and went to 12 different schools. Start times between 7:30 and 8:30 am and out at 11 am (foreign country with rolling blackouts) to 3:25 pm.

Elementary school in the late 70's and high-school in the mid-80's. It was always 9:00 - 3:30. I rode buses to a rural school in the early grades so the day was way longer; I'd get on before 8:00 and get home after 4:00.

Junior High and first two years of high school were 7:15-1:45, last two years of high school were 8:40-3:10. The school district I grew up in had three sets of starting times in order to make the best use of busses.

How long did your typical school day last?

Just shy of 7 hours. I think in HS it was 7:25 to 2:15.
Our primary and elementary started and ended later, but I don't remember the exact times.

Elementary school (K-6) was 8:45-3:15. Today they (K-5) go from 8:33-3:18.

The Jr-Sr High school (7-12) was 8:10-2:45. Today they (Middle school, 6-8, and High school, 9-12, go from 7:50-2:56.

As a public high school teacher, our school day is 8:20 to 3:30

This was pretty much mine as well, except for Junior high. We did not have junior high. Went straight from 7th grade to high school. That was quite the culture shock looking back on it.

high school in the 70's- 8-3 but w/the bus ride it was 7-3:45 ish. my kids (last graduated in 2016)- 8:15-3:05 but we were the first pick up/last drop off for the bus so 7-4:10'ish (in the winter they went to school and came home in full darkness).

Can't remember that long ago, but high school was definitely early - like before 8am and got out before 3. It was insane - ate lunch before 11am and was exhausted no matter what I did. Around here now, high school starts at 7:25.
