We knew each other about six weeks! We both knew we were meant for each other within a week, though. That was nearly 31 years ago and we're still going strong. I've thoroughly enjoyed proving the naysayers wrong!

I first met DH when I was a freshman in HS. He was a senior. But we didn't start dating until the end of my senior year. We got married after I graduated college. I voted 5-10 years. We've been married almost 11 years. :love2:

Dated 2 years, engaged 1 year and married 1 year. :lovestruc

We were only together a month when she got pregnant so within 6 months I got her a ring and we were married about a year and a half or so later.

I knew after my first date I was going to marry DH. I told my best friend. She didn't believe me - but her boyfriend had said to her, "Has she ever said that before? Why didn't you believe her?" I also told my mom that first night to start planning my wedding. We were engaged within a month and got married 8 months later. That was over 11 years ago.
I had made a specific list of what I was looking for in a husband and prayed about it. DH was everything that was on my list except one - making more money than me. And the only reason that that was on my list was because a lot of guys were intimidated by girls making more money. That wasn't an issue with DH so it didn't matter.

DH and I met online on Jan 28, 1995. He finally got my number and called me later that evening and somewhere in the course of our 12 hours on the phone (yep, 12) he asked me to marry him. I knew he was joking at that point, though. He came to meet me and my DDs the weekend after Valentine's Day, I came to meet his family the end of March, and he asked me to marry him on April 2nd (sorta...it was a call to check in from the road and he told me I should put my house on the market when I got back since we only needed one after we were married!). I did and he gave me my ring the beginning of May, we married June 18th, 1995. So, a little over 3 months for an "official" proposal, but we both knew from the first night we talked.

We were just over 6 months when we got engaged, and we were married exactly 2 years after our first date.

It was right at 6 months when we got engaged and we celebrated 10 years this year :lovestruc . He's a keeper!!

He was a friend of my brother's. I knew him 6 months, but not very well.

We started dating, 2 weeks later we were engaged.

4 months later we were married.

11 + years later we're still happily married.

My story is very similar. I had decided not to date for a while because I wasn't meeting anybody worthwhile. During my "alone time" :teeth: I'd developed a list of what I wanted in a man. DH also had a specific list of what he wanted in a woman. Luckily, we both had talked to his cousin (my coworker at the time) about what we were looking for. She decided to set us up on a blind date. :sunny:

I knew on our 2nd date. When we were saying goodbye at my door, a voice in my head said, "You're going to marry this guy." It kind of freaked me out a bit! It was so powerful that I felt compelled to blurt it out. Instead, I said something dorky like, "This feels really right!" LOL!

I called and woke up my mom and sister to tell them I was going to marry him. They didn't believe me until I reminded them that I had never said that about any other boyfriend.

DH moved in 6 weeks after our first date
We got engaged 2 months later
Married 10 months after that
Had DS exactly 9 months later ;)

We dated for 3 years before we got engaged, and got married a year and a half later.

I wasn't sure where to place my vote. We got engaged on our 2nd anniversary of dating...so I went with 1 to 2 years instead of 2 to 3 years....but it easily could have been the other one.

We met in junior high band, were friends for five years before we started dating, and dated for five years before we were marrried (4 1/2 before he proposed).

How long did I know her?

16 years.

Met in 1st. grade. Went all through school together, sometimes in the same classes. Graduated HS together. Met again 4 years later and after a few months asked her to marry me. Married 32 years this past June.

This is a great thread! You are all a bunch of romantics!!

We met on April Fools Day...

He proposed 2 months and 10 days later
under a bright full moon on a deserted Miami Beach!

We were married, 4 months and 6 days later...

That was 29 years ago last month.
And they lived happily ever after!!

I was 12 when we got married. ;)

We dated 5 months before we were engaged. I moved in after 3 months of dating. We've been married 2 1/2 years and I've loved every minute of it! I can't imagine being with anyone else, ever!

we dated right around six months before DH proposed to me

We Met June 25 1988
He proposed June 28 1988 :)
I didn't say YES until June 30
and we were only 17 at the time

we moved in together in 1990 and married in 1992
and are still very happy together

We were engaged after 10 months - DHs family found that so odd because his brother had been dating his wife since high school. My reputation never recovered from that one :cool1:
