How long did it take for you to find out about your ROFR?

We've only been waiting about a week now (I know, I'm SOOO impatient!!) but I wanted to know what to expect as far as the wait time from when the resale agent sends in your stuff to Disney (do they fax it or snail-mail it?) until you hear if you've been approved.

We bought BCV - 270 points at $72/pt with 224 pts. still on the 2004 year, full 270 coming in March '05. I don't worry about passing *much* because everyone here has had such positive words about their recent DVC contract purchases... BUT...

I'm just so darn anxious!!!

Is there a phone number to call at Disney to see if your contract has been approved?

Thanks!

Sherri :)

It took one week for me to find out! My resale is for 150 BWV points @ $74/pt with 125 banked and all 2004 points coming Sept 1st. I found out last week Tuesday, now I'm waiting for the closing papers to come.

That was a GREAT deal, Jeankeri!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy cow!!!!!!! One week I can handle!!!

Sherri :)

I haven't heard of anyone having ROFR exercised lately....

So don't worry, and pixie dust.

It actually might have been shorter but I had to have the papers ammended to include my DH's name! Timeshare Closing has to call Disney to remove our papers from the pile, then re-submitted them with the addendum. :)

Yes, I was a total basket case. But we our now excited and proud DVC members at BWV.
We started our process on March 18th, our closing date was pushed back a week because ROFR took so long. We closed on May 7th and were in the DVC system on May 21.

I think my experience is more the exception, sending PD your way for a quick process.:)

We made our offer on VWL points on July 5 and found out we passed ROFR on July 19. Much quicker than I expected. We're just waiting for the closing papers now.

I can feel your anxiety!!!::yes:: Our offer was just accepted by the seller for points at OKW and now we are in the waiting process for ROFR. We feel that we got an excellent deal! I'm totally excited :Pinkbounc AND totally worried :( . LOL....glad to hear that things have been going well for other folks. Please send a bit of that pixie dust our way too.

Let's just hope for a quick review and smooth sailing from here on out!!!!

It took 21 days for us to pass in March/April for BWV. It was a loooong 3 weeks! I hope you hear faster than we did!

I don't know whether to be relieved by some of your stories or anxious for the amount of time it could possibly take!!

How about a number for Disney that I could call to find out? Anybody know?

Thanks so much for your stories... if nothing else, it at least lets me talk about it to you all who truly understand (my IRL *in real life* friends just don't get it!)

Sherri :):Pinkbounc

It took us 10 days to pass ROFR at BWV, then 21 more until we were in the system and could make reservations. Hang in there, I know how you are feeling...

If you want to see what my process was like, here is my write-up, I hope it helps ease the pain (I know, not a chance ;) )

Good luck, and welcome home.

When we made our offer the resale agent told me that he didn't think it would pass ROFR. That made me a bit worried and we waited it out for 3 weeks. Finally I called the agent and was told that it had passed! Whatever pixie dust I can spare I'll send your way. I'm certain you'll pass without any problems.

We just passed ROFR at VWL. We waited 11 days. The contract was sent to Disney on July 12th and we heard on July 23rd. We are now waiting on the closing papers. As far as checking on the status with Disney: I had called MS before the 23rd to check on a reservation made for us with points that we rented. I asked about checking on where we were regarding ROFR and was told that the only way to do that was to contact the realtor who could contact the member and then the member had to call. Member could then call the realtor and the realtor would call me. I believe that since we were not the owners of the points, they were not able to discuss anything with me. I'm almost certain that this policy has to do with privacy issues. I know that I wouldn't want others checking into the status of property I owned, I just wasn't thinking of it that way when I asked. Sending pixie dust your way!

For our first resale, it took 2 weeks to get ROFR for our BWV contract. Entire process from offer to closing took about 6 weeks.

We are currently "in the process" for our 2nd resale. This time at BCV. ROFR took 2 weeks and I just sent back the closing papers today.

For all you soon to be DVC members.......beware of DVCitis!!!

Tell me about it!!! We started out with 175 points and have added on twice already, 50 points each time. Well, after a MAGICAL BWV stay we're looking again. This time 150 - 200 points, hopefully that will be enough, but probably not!

Waiting for ROFR can seem like an eternity so hang in there.
Our VWL contract was presented to Disney on 6/14 and it took 7 working days (6/23) for us to find out Disney passed on our contract. We closed on our contract last Tuesday (7/20) and we are now in the system.

This is so much fun to talk about... keeping my fingers busy typing instead of sitting around twiddling my thumbs waiting on Disney!

Did any of you use the expedited service through The Timeshare Store to hurry things along? I checked yes on the form, it's an extra $45. Just wondered if that made a difference. Maybe I should post that on a separate thread...

I did, and do not think it makes a difference. There were others that got through closing as fast and did not pay the expedited fee. I am not sure what you get, all the documents are sent via e-mail so it is not for overnight shipping

Best of Luck, I am sure you will be making ressies very soon :teeth:

Our ROFR review took 14 days (ten business days). This was on a 200-point resale at SSR.

At the time, TCS (not TTS, but the closing co.) told us that Disney usually does ROFR review in the middle of the week, and that we could call them every Thursday or Friday to check on the status of our offer. As it turns out, they called us on a Thursday to let us know that we passed.

Good luck!
