How long before you got your Disney Planning DVD?

I ordered mine last week, and it sounds like I'm going to be waiting for it for quite a while...Good thing I'm planning the family Disneyland trip for Feb/09. Maybe by the time we book the trip in Nov it will finally arrive:laughing: . They said 2 to 3 weeks...I'd say from looking at this thread more like 2 to 3 months.

It came today  :yay: :cheer2:

and it's the 2008 version.

Guess what I'm watching tonight? ;)

 DH ordered one the first week of January, and guess what showed up today! I have not watched it yet, but it looks like the 2008 version.

Ours came today too! We watched it tonight, and there were a couple of differences from 2007 but otherwise it seemed to be the same.

We ended up watching it last night, and agree with DearDaisyinDurham... not many changes over 2007.

Mind you, it was fun to watch the little one continually point out the characters, and yell "Dumbo Ride" and "Mickey House". Good thing he's got that all down pat, makes it harder for DH to deny the little guy trips

Hi Folks:

Perhaps I am the only person ... but I hated the Disney DVD. Sure. It was a slick production ... too slick. It was mostly about the people in the video, talking about the MAGIC, oh, the MAGIC ... enough about the MAGIC! We know. We are going. Let's talk about some attractions ... maybe a 10 second peak ... not 1 or 2 seconds like an MTV music video!

I was trying to use the DVD to get my relatives excited about going -- my kids and inlaws have never been. My inlaws were disappointed too. It comes off like a "hard sell".

I would highly recommend MODERN MARVELS: WALT DISNEY WORLD --- it is about 2 hours long and plays on the History Channel from time-to-time. It is also available on DVD. It gives you lots of "behind the scenes" -- and it is way made a few years ago.

I do agree with the disappointment on the last DVD.

And thanks for the tip about this other DVD: Modern Marvels. I have just requested it from the Mississauga library system.

It's funny... we have two different sets of friends who are going to WDW for the first time. In both cases, they received the DVD yesterday and :lovestruc LOVED :lovestruc it.

None felt it was a hard sell, probably because they've already paid and are waiting to leave. While the DVD might be annyoing or lack ride details - it still does meet or go above what first timers need to get prepared.

I get the mail on my way home from work at 2:30 and I call my DH to tell him "ITS HERE"! and he says that we can't watch it until the weekend because he is working late all week and the kids and I cannot watch it without him!!!

So now I gotta wait till Saturday!!!:sad1:

On another note..I decided to check an email address last night that I rarely use and low and behold there was the 20% off pin code!!!! :cloud9: Not that its THAT great but just to get the email was exciting!!!!!:rotfl:

Looks like they were all shipped the same day.

I got mine today. :cool1: I think I ordered it on Boxing day.

I ordered mine around the first week of January and it arrived 3 days ago. °0°

Last weekend we got out some of the old ones and I have to say 2005 was the best. Before watching it I was debating cancelling my POP ressie for June and looking at an off-site hotel.....but not anymore:lovestruc

Ordered mine January first and got it today. :cool1: :thumbsup2

Pretty much the same as 2007 I thought but we watched it anyways. I did think it was a tad less exciting in the very first intro, not sure if it had changed or it was just me.

Recieved mine yesterday in the mail and ordered it just before x-mas. I watched it and I liked it. I have to admit though the first year we went was the best video of them all...:wizard: Disney here I come...

I just don't understand why the old ones are better, it seems now that it's too fast or something, too glossy? Or as one poster said, I think it was MTV style? I liked the older dvds better too.

In the past, the DVD has come with coupons ... 20% off $100 at Disney Stores in WDW.

Where there any inclusions in this new DVD:confused3 I have the "Year of a million Dreams" DVD from last year and assume it would be too similar to bother ordering a new one.

Received ours yesterday. :) It is similar to 2007. I always enjoy watching this DVD regardless of the year. I just wish I was there instead of here watching it.
