How Long Before Calling MS after closing???

Hello All,
We just closed today and I was wondering how long after closing we should wait to call member services to see if you were in the system? I know they say 7-10 days but I read here about people being in the system as early as 3 days after closing. I don't want to seem pushy, but I also want to make a ressie ASAP.

If it's been a few days give them a call. The worse they can say is that you aren't there yet. Good luck.

When we bought our first contract at VWL, I called about a week after and found out we were in the system. The cast members at MSO are super nice so I would go ahead and call. The worst that can happen is "sorry, you aren't in the system yet". And chances are, when you call back the next day, you'll get a different person (so you won't be bothering the same person over and over again). Just make sure to have as much info as possible when you call...if you have a contract number, that is helpful. Otherwise all the pertinent personal info. GOOD LUCK!!!

P.S. - got my closing docs today, signed them and overnighted them back already! Fingers crossed that the sellers are as quick as yours were!
 
The normal expectation, buying resale, is ten business days. Buying direct, you can usually book ressies almost immediately, but resale takes longer. I'd wait 7 business days and start calling.

Don't be surprised if they tell you your name is in the computer, but there are no points in your account. In our case, then account went up one day and the points went in the next.

It seems like forever, but you only have to go through it once.
 

We closed last Friday on a resale. Wednesday morning we were in the system, Wednesday night the points were available. Thursday morning, we made our first reservation

Jim is correct. When we purchased our original contract from Disney, we signed the papers on a Tuesday and used them for that night, Wednesday and Thursday nights. That is a big benefit of buying direct.

So what did you end up doing?

I called but there were a lot of options and I didn't know what option to choose. I'm not sure who to ask...do I just follow the promts to reservations or do I need to go to accounting or somewhere else?

If I remember... I went to reservations. They can do all the look ups in their system. I just explained that I had closed and had not received my paperwork but really wanted to book a vacation. They were very nice about it. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

By the way, you are arriving the day we should be leaving - assuming we all get reservations!

Thanx...I will call them on Monday and hopefully I'll be in

We just added on to SSR! Called Tuesday and the points were
already posted to my account Wednesday evening! Turned around and
banked them into '07 so I could upgrade to a 1 bedroom Memorial
week at BCV. :banana:
