Hi All.....

let me start by again thanking all of the loyalists out there who are patient enough to answer questions over and over again.....

I just sent in the final payment and legal docs to complete a resale to Timeshare closing Inc.

I am trying to see how long it will take for the deed to be recorded in order to be able to book. I am in crunch time for availibility at BWV so I'm getting nervous.

This is an add-on purchase of 150, final payment rec'd on 7/11 does anyone know how long it takes from that point?

Thanks again.

T.

I hate to tell you, but it may be weeks :(. The part where the title company does their thing and waits for the ROFR is the longest part of the process. Try to take a deep breath ... I know it's hard to wait! You'll have your points before you know it and even if things look sold out now the waitlist usually works out well.

Good luck!

I am sorry........I wasn't clear......

We have already passed the ROFR, disney did not want it.

I am cur=ious now that they have passed, I have signed all the necc closing docs, and am waiting for the deed to be recorded.

The final check was sent and rec'd on Friday, that I have confirmed with the closing company, i am curious to know how long before I can actually utilize the points.

Thanks
T.

I don't think I can answer you exactly (I am waiting on my closing paperwork), but the way it was described to me is once it actually closes, then it takes about a week to get your member number. The agent helping you with this purchase should be able to give you better guidance though:cool:

Closing companies shouldn't, and usually don't, ask for final payment unless DVC has given their OK. So if one is doing a resale and gets the final closing package with deeds to sign and request for final payment, assume all is well. After that, it's just a matter of when the buyer and seller get all the paperwork and checks in. They will usually give you a target closing date in the paperwork. Once they've closed, then you will get a copy of the deed and it will be sent for recording. They will also send a copy to DVC at that point. So once you know it's actually closed or you get your copy of the deed, it should only take a few business days from then. You'll get your recorded deed usually within a few weeks.

Assuming the seller does their part in a timely manner, you should be within a couple of weeks of being registered with DVC for this resale.

When we closed on a resale it took about a week from that date until we were processed into the system. It took a few weeks for Disney to send us our documents, so son't wait for these. Once you're in the system you can make your first reservations (so much fun!). About 2-3 days after your closing you can start calling member services to see if you're in the system yet. Good luck!
