How long are your Land/Sea vacations?

We are doing a 4 day cruise followed by 4 days at WDW - so including 2 travel days, our trip will be 10 days long. It'll be our first cruise and our second time at WDW. For $400 more, I can add another full day at WDW. I'm considering this because it'll be MLK weekend so I know WDW will be busy - more days and we can go a slower pace. But, I am worried about it being too long for my 5 and 7 year old.

I am just curious how long your land/sea vacations are?

Thanks.

14 nights. 7 nights at wdw than 7 night cruise.

We have taken our (at the time 4 year old) on a 14 night DCL cruise plus 3 days prior...at 3 an 11 day trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton and at 5, we went on a 33 day RV Roadtrip covering 7,000 miles. I don't think its the age that matters as much as your children's temperaments. Are they the kind that need down time or miss home? We are moving to Spain soon (as a home base) and will be exploring all of Europe and Africa for 3 years. Our kiddo will do just fine with 3 years of non-stop traveling. Other kids might freak out.

Too long for the kids? Not a chance. You'll have time to take an afternoon or two off for pool time. I bet they'll love it.

As long as I can make them! When my daughter was 3 we did a 28 day road trip to 11 National Parks. Like a previous poster said, it depends on your kids. My daughter is an amazing traveler. None of her cousins are good travelers so they don't go on many trips (and they are much older than her).

This July will be a 7 night / 4 night, Sea / Land trip for us...and it still won't be enough. :) (it's been years since our last big vacation)

We did 3 nights WDW, 4 night cruise, 2 nights WDW. I could have stayed longer!

Well... we initially were going to do 7 nights pre-cruise, 15 night cruise. It sort of snowballed and now it is an entire month of Disney :D 12 nights at WDW, 15 night EBTA, 3 nights at WDW again.

Wow I am a bit jealous. Its hard to take even 1.5 weeks off work!
ENJOY!!!!!!!

Last year we did 2 days at WDW (MNSSHP), 7 day cruise, then 4 more days at WDW (MVMCP). I made it longer so that we could go to both parties. My kids were 5, 3 and 1. They had been to WDW twice before. They had fun but, once we got of the ship they kept asking when we were going home. I felt bad that I planned a trip so long they got homesick. I don't think I would change it if I were doing it again, but I was surprised that they reacted that way.

2 Days at VB.
7 Day DCL
5 Days at BWV.
14 days total for our 25 anniversary.

Varies but one trip we were away 3 weeks with the kids and they were fine!! My kids always liked to travel and were always good travelers!

Definitely at least cruise length + minimum 7 days at WDW. The parks are so much better when you don't have to spend 12 hours trying to do everything, which is what you have to do with a 4 or 5 day ticket. It is too much and by day 4 your family will be exhausted. Seven days is a nice way to go shorter days in the park, resort/pool time, relaxing dinner, etc. You can even sneak back in for a the night shows. The perfect length is probably 7 day cruise + 7 days WDW. But we are DVC so 7 days seems normal to us.

7 land followed by 7 sea plus at least 4 travel days (in the UK) for the last 6 years and DS would love for it to be longer - it would be if it wasn't for school!

We usually average 2 weeks. We have done Universal pre-cruise, then the 7-day, and then another few days at Universal, or vice versa.

Hubby has unlimited vacation (within reason) and won't be there the whole time, but the kids and I will be there :D I have family in Orlando so it's a double duty trip.

Last year we did 5 nights at sea then 3 nights in the parks, this summer we're doing 7 nights at sea then two days in the parks. later this year we're slipping away for 2 days in the parks and then a 3 night Merrytime. I think whatever/however you can make it work is the perfect fit for your family.
TBH tho 4 days in the parks is just enough for me, I could probably do 14 days on a ship but the parks are more like work.

Oh thats great he can be so flexible! Ok you are a little forgiven since you have to visit family too!! J/K!! I am sure your family is lovely! In any case, have a great time!! :)

In 2004, we did 4 days WDW and 3-night Bahamas DCL.

In 2011, we did 3 days UO, 7 days WDW and 4-nights Bahamas DCL.

In 2017, we will do 6 days UO, 7-nights Western Caribbean DCL and 9 days WDW (2 MNSSHP and F & W). It's going to be a super fun trip this time with all the extra things going on.

Our land/sea was 4 night Bahamian on the Dream, followed by 4 days in the parks. It was our first cruise so we just wanted to try it to see what it was like. We're WDW veterans so 4 days in the parks was perfectly adequate for us. It worked out perfectly.
