How long are you willing to wait?

Depends on the ride. 30 minutes for old favorites like Pirates, Haunted Mansion or Star Tours. Maybe 20 for Figment, Nemo or The People Mover. We would wait a max of 60 minutes for Mine Train, RnRC, or FoP. We try to use FP as much as we can for the headliners.

45 minutes is nothing to me. Granted I won't wait 45 minutes for something like Pooh, but have no problem waiting that for something like TSMM

Rides we very rarely do standby except when they are walk on at RD. Maybe 15-20 minutes if we have time to kill. Characters are a whole different ballgame for us though. When it comes to rare characters at parties and such we will wait as long as it takes...I wish they did FP's for those lol.

20, maybe 30. The longest I've ever waited was 1 hour for Forbidden Journey. But the best line queue I've ever seen made it OK. I've been to WDW enough to not care if I miss something because the line was too long.

I'd say usually 20-30 minutes. Though I was pretty spoiled this week. Visited for 2 days, rode just about every ride at all 4 parks with either a FP or no more than a 10 minute wait. I went into this trip with pretty much zero plans so everything was kinda just winging it, especially my 2nd day as that was a last minute decision at the end of the 1st day. Only exception was FoP, wait time said 90 minutes and I really wanted to ride it with no luck getting a FP, was off the ride in less than an hour. FoP was the only ride I had no luck getting a FP for, everything else popped up at some point day of.

This is one thing that I can't believe I didn't know earlier - getting more FP+s after you've used your three. I am definitely going to make much better use of the MDE app when we go next month!

I also thought this was true, but it's not. You can keep getting one additional FP as long as they are still available that day.

You can keep adding more and more as you go, just one at a time. With a bit of refreshing you can find any ride (the larger the group the harder though).

Our rule has been 20 minuets with it broken a few times to 30 minuets. We always do rope drop and start FP about an hour and a half or so later. Following that we grab a new one as soon as we scan the previous one. We were just discussing how long we would stand in line for FOP next trip if we can’t get a FP and we agreed on one hour.

We're a 1 park a day kinda family. No hopping. We ride everything in the park in a day and usually are done by dinnertime. We do have good ropedrop strategy and use fp wisely for sure. We don't wait longer for anything more than 30 minutes usually. Maybe 45 minutes on a rare occasion. Most things are way less.

It depends on the day and the attraction. An hour-long queue doesn't faze me if it's an attraction I want to experience.

We're not locals, so I figure that if the attractions are worth flying cross-country for, they're also worth a wait in line.

That said, I carefully minimize our waits as much as possible via careful planning. But I won't miss out on something I want just because a wait is unavoidable.

Having done the FP+ for FOP... Nope. Yes you get through quickly, but you miss the vast majority of the queue, so IMHO it's not worth using the FP+.

You can get as many as you want in a day, one at a time. I got almost 20 in one day this past week between all 4 parks, though I was by myself. The only ride I did not see at some point during the day was FOP, everything else had several available times throughout the day including FEA, Navi, SDMT, Space, etc. I've had similar experiences in the past as well and with larger groups. Okay maybe not that many haha, but I usually get at least 8-10 FPs a day.

Now that I've seen the queue once, I don't feel the need to wait in the line again. If I can snag a FP for it, there is no way I wouldn't take it. It was cool for sure, but not something that wowed me enough to wait. But if it's wait or don't ride, then sure I'll wait if it's somewhat reasonable.

DH and I always rope drop, plan FP+ for as early in the day as possible. After that, depending on the crowd levels we might go for whatever we can get soonest FP+. Rides we really like we are more willing to wait in line: Soarin' up to 60 minutes, Pirates 45 minutes, TSMM up to 45 minutes.

My dd and I were there for the opening weekend last year and we decided if we ever saw a 120 min or less wait time and we didn’t have other fast passes, we were going to ride FOP. I’ve found that with rope dropping and fast pass utilization, it’s just not necessary to wait in long lines.

I've seen several people post with this perspective. It is not one I share. I might be willing to wait in line once for the HP rides at Universal. I might be willing to wait in line for the Millennium Falcon ride when it opens if it has a cool queue. But that's it. No way I care enough about Avatar to wait 120 minutes to see some theming. I haven't seen the PPF queue either. I don't know what I'm missing and I don't care if I ever do. I will wait in line of I have to but will almost never choose it willingly.

My DH on the other hand may have the opposite philosophy. He does not do Disney research though so what he doesn't know isn't going to hurt him.

I waited in the line at Universal for the Gringots ride - very cool line. Same for Frozen ride, Mine Train, Pooh, even new Dumbo has better line. But once I’ve done it once, it’s FP for me. I bail if sign says 45 mins or more, since often that means 30.

Also does anyone consider the wait until rope drop as part of the wait for the first ride? I get to RD, but about 15 minutes early, then first ride is about 10-15 minutes. Standby next ride, then start FP. If you get to RD and are on the rope, how long do you wait? First on? Is it worth the hour wait for RD?

I don't wait in lines longer than 10 minutes. I use around 15 fastpasses a day and ride things like expedition Everest, space mountain and big thunder mountain multiple times. With FP+ it's pretty easy to avoid lines
