Anyone know how long the Christmas decorations, specifically the gingerbread creations, are up at the Grand Floridian, Beach Club, etc?? We are arriving on New Year's Day, thought it would be fun to resort hop and see them.
I've called a few hotels because Reservations wasn't sure when I asked - they said they start to come down on the 1st. The hotels said they will be completely down a week after New Year's. So we might just see them in the process of dismantling. They are really not to be missed though - especially the bigger hotels: Grand Fla., Wilderness Lodge, etc. (There is a Disney special on now on the travel channel which is all about the Christmas events.) I know the Christmas parade and Candlelight Processional will be over by the 1st, but do not pass up looking at the decorations at the hotels and Downtown Disney too!
Two years ago we checked out of the GF on the 9th and they were working on taking down the tree then. However the gingerbread house comes down much earlier, maybe the 2nd.
Anyway, I think it varies quite a bit. I would try to resort hop on the 1st to have the best chance of seeing everything!
Thanks for the info! I just watched that Disney special on the Travel Channel and my son was going crazy over the gingerbread house! I think we may do just that, hop around to some resorts when we arrive on the 1st!
We're staying at the GF beginning 1/3 and our pre-planner said that the decorations stay up through the first week of January. I'm looking forward to seeing the Gingerbread house myself.
