How late is TOO late???

I am another who uses 9-9 as the rule for anyone whose hours I do not know well.

Mine too. If my phone rings after this it better be an emergency.

And not before 8am during the week & 9am on weekends.

I would say by 10 pm. I'm surprised at all the people who are saying not to call after 9. Of course I wouldn't call after 9 about something frivolous, or expect to have a long conversation with someone (unless I was having a crisis of some sort).

I will also wait untill 10am to call people. A lot of people who do not work either sleep in or like a quick nap after dropping the kids off at school.

But I have friends I call at 3 AM, who I know are up, and I call on cell phones.

We get up early, like 4 or 5 so we really like to be winding down before 9. Most people we know also get up really early so I would never call anyone after 8!

I hate having the phone ring any time during the evening. Basically, I hate the telphone. Period. But evening calls are worse, especially when it's DH's co-workers calling "with a quick question." Work hours are 8 - 6, leave him alone after that.

If I absolutely HAVE to call someone in the evening, I would do so until 9 p.m. And I won't call anyone in the morning before 9 a.m. unless I know specifically that they are earlier risers, then I'll call after 8 a.m.

DH's brother-in-law and co-workers have called before 7 a.m. and I really, really hate that. Occasionally they've woken us up, and they should just be glad I refuse to answer the phone that early or they would get an earfull.
