How late is TOO late???

what do you think is a reasonable time to call someone's house phone? this is a close friend who i would feel comfortable calling anytime, day or night. however she has been staying at her mother's house recently and i just don't know how late is ok. and i keep forgetting to ask her when i do talk to her! she doesn't have a cell phone, and the house phone doesn't have long distance, so if we are going to talk i have to catch her at home.....

If she's staying at someone else's house, I wouldn't call past 9:30.

I'm sure everyone feels differently, but for me 10am-10pm is calling hours. Outside of that it's why is someone calling so early/late.

Me, I wont answer any land line calls, or calls on my cell phone after that time.

Our rule has always been before 10 pm, and after 8 am....My mother is the one who made the rule, and she's one of the worst am offenders, though!

It seems as though most of our family and friends follow the same rule.

If it's someone older (ie, over 70), I might switch that to before 9pm.....

My parents and in-laws would all agree with you, but at my house we are busy with dinner, homework, baths, bedtimes, etc until about 8. Between 8 and 9:30 is the best time to call if you need to talk to me. If I don't answer I'm and will call you back during your favorite show....
