I got the go ahead to plan a non-Spring Break trip and take my niece out of school. Our options are late February or early March. I'm thinking the later we go the warmer the weather will be.

When do the Spring Break crowds start? Could we go the 1st or 2nd week of March and still be comfortable with smaller crowds?

Also, is there a huge difference temp wise in late Feb and early March?

Most Spring Breaks revolve around Easter which, this year, is in late March. I'd say early March would be good, but late February (not President's Week) would be better crowdwise. For weather, March is one of those months where you never know if it will be rainy or warm. February tends to be cooler, but the differences between the two months are minimal.

Most AZ schools have the 2nd week of March off for Spring Break.

Unfortunately our spring break is a week later this year which will include Easter so we don't want to brave the insane crowds.

If the hotel prices are the same I think we'll shoot for first week of March and hope for dry weather!

They also have cheerleader camps starting the first week of March. They normally go Thursday-Sunday.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what do you mean by cheerleader camps?? It's not something they do at the parks is it? :confused3 I don't think I could stand any of that nonsence happening while I was there...

The cheerleading camps are more like a competition and the park is flooded with cheerleaders. I havent' been to DL during one but I was at WDW one year. The girls didn't cheer there, just visited the park. Surprisingly, the girls were fine but the MOMS were something else!

Not only AZ, but Texas. (March 10th - 14th) Which means they will start arriving on Fri 3/7.

We were at DLR this year the exact same week (second week in March), & it seemed like 1/2 the park was from AZ & TX. Also, the earlier in the week, the better. Friday was very crowded.

In IL almost all schools are out the last week in March, no matter when Easter is.

We went during one of these camps in 2006 (we were there the end of Feb and beginning of March). The cheerleader girls were insane. They would cut in line and kept getting BTMRR shut down because they weren't doing well at keeping themselves fully in their cars. It was annoying. Once they left all was great though.
