How late can we arrive in Orlando and still use DME? We have always arrived early morning, however, this time we are going in March and are hoping to leave after the kids get out of school. There is a flight that leaves at ~7pm and will arrive sometime between 9-9:30 pm. If we arrive at 9:30 pm will this service still be available or will we need to make other arrangements.

It will be availalbe. They operate 24/7.

However, I did see on another thread that, I believe after 10 p.m. you must pick up your own bags and bring them to the ME bus.

Thanks. I thought I remembered something changed later at night.

If we must take our own bags to the DME bus, when we arrive at the resort, are we also responsible for taking our own bags off and carrying them to our room?

Yes. Same procedure as for arriving via other methods such as a rental car.

It is customary to tip the bus driver as he hands your bag back to you from under the bus, same procedure as for handling carry ons and strollers at any hour of the day both Disney bound and home bound.

You can tip a bellhop to carry the bags from the DME platform (or from the check in area) to your room.

We're doing the same thing in March - taking a Fri. eve. flight down & will arrive around 10:15 pm - using DME. I am going to try REALLLY REALLLLY HARD to pack in carry-ons only so I don't have to go to baggage claim. It will depend on the weather forcast though. We have never gone in March before but I figure we may need some layers for the evenings. :confused3 We got an Owners Locker last year so I don't have to pack EVERYTHING anymore. IF I can't get everything in carry-ons we will check no more than 1 bag for the 3 of us. Anyway, when you get to your resort & check-in you can just take your luggage from the bus to Bell Services and have them bring it on a cart to your room. Of course it is fairly standard to tip about $1 per bag handled.....
