How late do the buses usually run?

So we're staying in POP next month and are trying to get a Chef Mickey's reservation for dinner one night. I can get one around 9pm, which could work if we went after Wishes, but the buses only run "until the parks are empty" according to the website. If the park closed at 8pm and then had Wishes, do you think we would have time to eat dinner at 9 and Monorail back over before the buses stopped running? I'm guessing not but I have no idea how long it takes to clear the park during a non-peak season. Thanks in advance!

Normally buses, monorail trains, and boats don't take you back to a park at its closing time. The "published" way to get from one resort to another is via Downtown Disney.

But nothing keeps you from walking from the Contemporary to Magic Kingdom at that time to catch buses provided that you get to the bus platforms before "the last guest" out of MK does. It'll take you about 9 minutes to get from the Contemp. to the MK bus platform while it will take "the last guest" about 3 minutes to get from the turnstiles to the bus platform. Note that the monorail leaving the Contemp. stops at the Polynesian and the Grand Floridian before getting to MK.

The last few buses from a park may be shared by several non-neighboring resorts.
