How late do pools stay open?

I'm staying at AKL at the end of April, and I'm wondering how late the pools stay open. Does anyone know?

Official closing time is midnight.

I thought that there were lifeguards until midnight but that it was open 24 hours.

Lifeguards aren't on duty at most resorts until midnight. I don't think anyone would stop you for swimming after midnight as long as you were quiet. At CBR, lifeguards leave after 8 PM.

When we were at AKL in November, we were told the pool was open 24 hrs. I think the previous poster was right in that the lifeguards leave somewhere around 8 or 9.

As stated by Safetymom the official time is midnight and it is posted at each pool where they post the rules. No running, no glass at the pool etc. Not sure anyone reads these

Some resorts will let you swim after the official closing time as long as you do not disturb sleeping guests that have rooms near the pool.
