How late can you add someone to a reservation?

We have multiple staterooms booked for a late June cruise. Our booking window opens tomorrow and our paid in full date is not until April 26. I am not worried about booking as soon as the window opens, we have been to both ports and I trust we will find something to do that we will enjoy, even if we don't book right away. Not worried about Palo or Castaway cabanas, etc.

My question is - we have three active duty members traveling with us (husband, son and daughter's SO). My husband and son already have leave approved but our daughter's boyfriend is transferring late March to a new command so his leave has not been approved yet. We are not worried about excursions, just a chance for us to all finally vacation together now that life is trying to return to normal.

If we pay in full before he knows for certain he can come, can we add him later? How late? He has all papers - passport, vaccine, etc. so it's just a matter of adding a name to the reservation.

I think you can add people until a few days before sailing, but there are a few issues to consider if you add someone after booking:
The cost will be the cost at time of booking, which may have gone up from the initial cost.
If the lifeboat station for your stateroom is full, even if the room can have additional people, you won’t be able to add anyone.
If you think he will have a decision on leave approval before your paid-in-full deadline, you can put him on the reservation now and cancel for a refund before that date (even if you have actually made your final payment). If he doesn’t know by then, you’d need to cancel and try to add him back if necessary.

At least, the day before the ship sails. On one of my cruises, I was added on the day before we sailed. It was originally just going to be DH and the kids cruising, but he decided he wanted me to come. The travel agent told him he could not add me, so he called Disney directly. They added with no problem.

what about concierge level stateroom? can i still add someone even if after paying in full? the cruise is next month! Thanks

It all depends on lifeboat space. Concierge or not, they will not let you add a person if there is not space in that lifeboat station.
