How late can I book DME?

I am travelling in 3 weeks and have not yet decided whether to use DME or book a towncar. Disney does not mail the DME details to the UK (we have to sort it out at the desk) so I don't have to worry about the package not arriving in time, but I was wondering if there is a cutoff date for booking DME like there is for the dining plan. I know you can't just turn up at the airport desk, you have to book it in advance. But how far in advance?

Disney says that a DME reservation must be made no later than 10 days in advance. This is for the trip from airport to resort. For the ride from resort back to the airport, it can be done with as little as about 24 - 48 hours notice. You'd generally make the entire reservation all at one time, but I didn't want to leave out that little detail in case it applies to you.

Almost right Eric...Disney says you have to make the reservation no less than 10 days prior in order to get your info packet and tags. But..if that isn't going to be an issue for you, then you could feasibly book DME the day before you needed it. I wouldn't but you could. What I would do is book DME now. If the OP decides to use a towncar, no harm no foul. Just don't ride DME. That won't be an issue.

You don't even have to cancel. DME doesn't really care whether or not you show up. If you decide to use a towncar, fine. No need to call DME and let them know.
