It was not about disrespect to the flag, but of course it had something to do with the flag.... it was a show of mourning while the National Anthem was being played and everyone is supposed to be standing at attention looking at the flag flying. Kaeprnick was not kneeling all game long. Just like flying the flag at half mast is about the flag, but not a show of disrespect to the flag. But maybe you are just trying to be snarky? I have never ever paid attention to Flag Day, though I do pay attention to Memorial Day, and I am not talking about the sales! Relatively few Americans recognize Memorial Day except as just another long weekend like Labor Day. Now I think that's a shame.

I doubt the average American even knows when Flag Day is much less what it represents.
For what it's worth I still think of 11.11 as Armistice Day instead of Veterans' Day; old habits die hard.

Now as to NFL players and sports team members of all ilks celebrating Flag Day? Probably they'll do as most Americans - display the flag in front of their homes. Will any players shoot videos and put them out on Twitter, Instagram, youtube, TikTok, etc showing us their stars and stripes festooned homes?

Praising the flag in what way? Good flag...look at you ,....so brightly colored. You flap so well.

If you mean respecting what the USA and democracy means or should mean for everyone? And working to make democracy and opportunity attainable for all Americans? I am sure they do that every day.
