How are everyones ebay sales doing?
I have somethings doing well and some doing so-so. When do you start listing for Christmas sales ? I am thinking next week should start the x-mas shopping

My sales are doing well! Finally, since I found over the summer and even in September things were slow.I am thinking this week or even next week for Christmas.

I've listed 5 things in the last month & they all sold & paid w/o problems - so far *knock on wood*. How much do you think day/time of ending affects sales? Two boutique kids outfits with a handful of watchers each didn't go nearly as well as I thought. Did my listing ended too late? 11:30 EST. Any advice?

You should do well with Christmas items starting this week. The forum I am a member of has talked about when to end your auctions and there is always a debate. Mon and Tues are good while Thurs for me are also good. I try to do listings so that they get weekend view. I do some for 3 days, some for 5 and some for 7. You want yours to show when someone searches .....Please be aware of the new TV shows that may be on when you are listing to end. For example, des housewives, etc are shows that have affected ending bids. Hope this helps!!

They are going ok. In the past 4 weeks I have brought in just over 998.00. This week I am getting rid of half my Christmas dresses and making just over 120. with 2 days to go so I am hoping to break 150. at the least. I will be taking a break next week to get my toy auctions and remaining Cmas dresses (the less fancy ones) listed along with some more book auctions I have been working on. Hope everyones auctions do well!

BTW, not sure why but I always end my auctions at 10pm est on Monday nights and they normally do well for me. I tried other nights and they didn't do as well for me (plus there really isn't anything on tv that night LOL).

DH and I just started back into the Ebay world. He is convinced that Saturday 9-10pm is a good time for closing auctions. I'm not so sure. We've got a few things closing tonight and some stuff we listed last night already has bids. Actually I have an old stamp collection that got a bid about 20 minutes after I listed it! I did the rounds of the thrift stores yesterday and came home empty handed. Nothing there but JUNK and I really picked the places over. Our local Goodwill now has a boutique section where everything is priced WAY to high for a thrift store. I guess I'll keep cleaning out my closets!

We used to have an ebay store. It would let you know hour by hour, day by day, how many views and such you had if you take the time to run the reports.

Anyhow, we found that Monday and Thursday evenings had the most traffic. There was a massive dip for all day Fridays and Saturdays.

We sell pretty much 98% clothing and shoes.

I have found Mon night as a good time to have my auctions end. i had one item this thime around that had a bid within five minutes of posting it. It has done okay but not great. This week will be mailing and then gathering and then pic's and listing. good luck all

This is my third week ebaying. I would say my sales are just ok. I have sold 12 of 30 items. I have not been thrilled with the prices- many things I thought would go higher. I am really just learning and will hopefully find my niche. I have been ending on sunday nights and not thinking this is very good-even though that is when I used to buy. (So maybe desparte housewives IS impacting my sales!) I use bidnapper, so it never mattered what time something ended. There were four hundred snow white dresses for sale when I listed mine!Didn't get a bite! Wished I had that violet dress folks talked about on the other thread. What are people selling? Seems like kids clothes and toys do really well. Antiques and art depends on whos watching. What sells for people?

My son and I decided to give this a go and neither one of us had even a bite (no reserve either). He is trying to sell PS2 games and I tried a NWT leather bag. Not sure what we did wrong -- we did have pictures, we had them listed for 7 days, shipping and handling was cheap. We tried this about a month ago and haven't done anything since but we'd love any ideas.

I have been doing decent so far. My first set of auctions I got rid of some of my kids clothes they had outgrown. That went really well, but I didn't really have a ton to list. This week I listed more, so we'll see.

One questions: I have 1 person that won a 7-day auction that ended Wed morning....they still haven't paid or completed their checkout. I have sent them the e-bay invoice. Isn't that a little long, or am I just a little anxious?

I have found so far that some folks aren't as speedy as others. If they are paying by check/money order, 4 days is not enough. Even if they are paying with paypal, some folks just don't push the button that quick. Give them more time. If you have not heard from them, email them and ask them to let you know how they will be paying, but be sure to be very polite! Good luck!

Patsgirl- PS2 games are always good sellers for me. I sometimes put them in lots, but usually sell individually.

You don't have to say but what types of games and how much did you start them at?? Did you used the pre-filled info? This will give you the average starting price and selling price for that particular game?
We usually start ours in the $.98-$5.00 range w/ shipping at $3.50 a piece. Then an average game will sell for around the $7-15 range. Now, I've had quite a few go for the $20-25 range. Then I've had the rare few used ones that went for $45-65. (They were both very rare- the funny thing is we got them at EB Games for $5.99 & $7.99 each and DS just didn't like them).

Thanks Kilee. Maybe where we went wrong was doing a "bundle". He listed 12 games, mostly the $40-50 games, with leather case, start at $120, with minimal s&h. I'll let him know we should try them individually. I guess he picked this price figuring he didn't want to take less than $10 each or cumulatively. I appreciate your help. Brenda
